Have You Ever Had a Bad Haircut?
Ask a Question
If so what did you do and did you complain? I have had several and only twice complained the first offered me money off for my next cut??? And the second continued recutting until I has to ask them to stop as I looked like a well known villlan- AND I was starting a new job! Office lunch times sure were lonely that year ...,
I think a lot of people have probably had a haircut they weren't totally pleased with but the the British way to not say much (or anything!). I certainly have but didn't complain because it just felt awkward.
I know! its bad not to complain really as I ended up not going back but I found it so uncomfortable when i complained with a clearly so uneven fringe it crossed my eyebrows no one spoke during the whole re cut and everyone watched, so humiliating - think I even offered to pay again!!!
Twice!
Once whilst modelling at university to get a free haircut which resulted in a complete horror of a cut. Took me months to grow it out.
Secondly, just recently. Not so much a bad cut, and it was not entirely my new hairdressers fault. She cut more than I anticipated. She was following my brief but I was too busy chatting to notice how much was hitting the floor! We did have a good laugh and the cut was fantastic. Lots of complements. It was just much shorter than I expected.
oh Ive also been there. Was maid of honour and wanted my hair in a shiny glossy chin length bob such like the singer rihanna had at the time. discussed at consult before hand -all great. The big day came and I was in the chair sorting the bride the groom the flower girls etc and could see quite a lot of hair flying - had no mirror as makeup was a surprise from the bride, so I eventually says erm doesnt it need to be longer for a bob? Hairdresser froze and says you DID want it like rihanna...yes says I well says hairdresser she doesnt have a bob now...turns out RiRi had got the chop to a short pixie- I looked like dennis the menace!!! #Aislewalkofshame
OneeyedRaven omg, what a story!!! You must have been upset. I guess the morale of this is to always check celebrities latest do !
gaelle0501 yeah how dare she not consult me ....in fairness it was only 2 weeks but yup lesson learned the hard way!!
OneeyedRaven You so funny. Sorry I had not responded to your commented sooner! I can imaging that took quite a while to grow back... Xx
Once when I was a teenager. The hairdressers tried to give me a fringe, despite me not asking for one and having a cows lick, so a fringe would not look good. I shot my mum a look, who came over and stopped her but I had really short hair on either side and took ages to grow out! Mum never took me back to that hairdressers and she made a major complaint.
Ive had a few. Well not really bad like some stories you see on facebook but not what i wanted. I dont like to complain i just dont go back
glad im not alone, cant believe we are all so politely British about complaining instead we slope away resigned to wearing a bobble hat for the next 6 months!
OneeyedRaven luckily i havent had such a bad cut because hats just dont suit me i just have to rock a cows lick when my fringe goes bad
CathSho13 do you have extra friendly hair that just likes waving at the world? My micro fringe is high-fiving ya!
I suffered a bad perm years ago. It was left on too long and my hair broke. It was such a long time but I’ll never forget it! Even now I think my hair is thinner on my crown which I put down to that perm burning me.
oh no!!! Your poor hair. Ok really nervous as Im at a new hairdressers today- chat topic coming soon how to wear a bobble hat 7 ways in summer.......eeeeeek fingers crossed!
gaelle0501 Check. And Check check, it was like that episode in friends with phoebe and monica thank god for my wining personality- the one I grow when watered with gin!
OMG literally just choked on my cup of tea- that is well, wow. Think I may cancel hair apt long hair is back in again - right??! Will be haunting my nightmares, never wanted to see a comb over on a man more in my life! ps Do not want to know which celebrity they googled for this inspo......!
I shave my own head and once I had a few drinks and forgot to put on the adapter. I ended up having to go totally bald for a week!
I have one now
... I asked my partner to help cut my hair by leveling it up and when he passed me my hair... he had cut another two inches off lol
Yes I have and I didn't explode until I went home and had a good cry. Rules for having your hair cut - When you have explained what you want ask them if they are CLEAR what you require. Do NOT engage in conversation as this makes the cutter lose concentration and forget which bit they'd already cut. DO speak up and state that the cutter has spent a LOT of time on one side and ask if here was a problem. DO have the courage to pull a disgusted face when they bring the all important mirror into play and just say 'Oh dear!, oh dear'.
