With the festive season around the corner, Royal Mail has unveiled its final recommended dates for sending Christmas cards and gifts to ensure they reach loved ones in time.
If you want your items to arrive before Christmas, the postal service suggests mailing by Wednesday, December 18, for 2nd Class, Friday, December 20, for 1st Class, Saturday, December 21, for Royal Mail Tracked 24, and Monday, December 23, for Special Delivery Guaranteed.
Emma Lake reported that Royal Mail will also be bringing in 16,000 seasonal workers and nearly 4,000 additional vans, trucks, and trailers to cope with the holiday rush.
According to Nick Landon, Chief Commercial Officer, “We will have an additional 16,000 seasonal workers and almost 4,000 new vans, trucks and trailers added to the fleet in time for Christmas. It’s our busiest time of year and we plan all year round to help ensure we deliver the best possible service for UK consumers and businesses.”
Royal Mail is also making users aware of the risks of scams and counterfeit stamps. A free stamp scanner, available through their app, has been launched to help customers check the authenticity of their stamps.
For those sending items abroad, keep in mind that delivery times are longer, and it’s best to ship early to avoid unexpected delays.
Ill be sending my parcel to Australia and Germany a get them collected from the house always a great service
merry christmas to you all
I will send Christmas cards to family and friends with a second class stamp and I will post them early so I know they will get it in time.
Royal Mail is taking too much from the customer. Posting an item through them is very expensive with the price of a stamp raising twice in a year.
If they had kept a lower price with more people sending post then they would have got as much as they do now with less people sending post at the higher price.
