Examples of Bad Customer Service

Which companies really don't make the effort? Where have you experienced bad customer service.
First up Asda, even though I've been told that their wages aren't too good, I don't think that justifies the constant 'couldn't care a less' attitude of the staff. I've spend most of my working life either on minimum wage or just pence above it and used to be on working tax credits, but despite that, I wasn't allowed to be rude, dismissive, ignore customers, walk off, refuse to help etc. Without fail, every time I set foot in Asda's, I come out angry at how I've been spoken too. Three times so far this year as I will not go to this store unless I have to.
BT- words fail me for this bunch. They charge the earth and when you have a problem, they will do not a thing to help. My smarthub doesn't work properly as I believe their is a loose wire in it. They will not send me a new one. I've spent a couple of hours so far on the phone to them. More interested in trying to sell me BT TV. Also put me on an 18 month contract, I didn't know about, so I can't leave until march 2019. I've had problems with BT before when my phone and broadband stopped working. Apparently, I had to solve that issue myself..... Long story. Can't wait to leave them.
ShellyAnn Scottish power - where do they find the staff? The staff will argue with you over your meter readings, claiming they are too low. Accuse you of fixing your meter. I even had a bill for £11,000 once. I laughed. They cancelled it after I got into it on the phone with them. Also the staff know nothing about tariffs, so that will be a short conversation as they ca not advise you or answer your questions. Sadly, I can't find anyone cheaper, so I am stuck with them. At one point, I was ringing them every week in a bid to try and get my bill right as they have a tendancy to charge you what they want, despite your meter readings and also help themselves to whatever they like from your bank account. I had to cancel my direct debit with them. A delightful company...
It isn't that their wages aren't good. It is that they don't pay wages if people are on workfare, the state pays them benefits. I would be rude if I were forced to do workfare particularly if I was not well enough to work and yes it is justified.
I think I may have misinterpreted it, if you were saying that no one at Asda cares rather than no one cares about ShellyAnn's comment about Asda.
It's ok. I'm recovering from flu and should probably stop commenting until my brain is less fuzzy.
Yip it seems others agree
But its not just Asda it British workers mentality - 50% service and 50% effort (If that!!!)
No wonder the Eastern Europeans are lauded - I live in Slovakia 6 months of the year and they are such hard workers and amazing they never throw anything out - the lady i live with recycles everything - she has an old bathtub in the garden collecting rainwater to water her plants - recycles all the coffee and tea for mulch and has so many of what we would in the West call old fashioned ideals - I even saw a guy who had converted an old box into a cart by adding some discarded car tyres and an axle so he could carry his potatoes from his field to his home - amazing how they get by!
UPS......................few weeks ago i ordered something and it was supposed to be delivered by UPS. Apparently they came when i was not at home and left a note. I went online and tracked my parcel and asked for it to be redelivered (UPS site clearly sates that you can get upto 3 free re-delivery tries). The parcel never arrived on designated date thus i called them and inquired about it. They gave me the local depo number and asked me to check it myself. Oh man they were a rude bunch of trash. Well they told me that it would arrive after 2 days. I got nothing so i called back UPS customer support and they told me that my package is being shipped back and when i asked why they were unable to give any reply.
Even after almost 3 weeks of wait all i got was a sorry from a bunch of irresponsible and unprofessional people.
Scottish power - my meter failed it took them over 5 years to fix it after 100 emails and 35 phone calls and 3 visits - In that time i reckon i got £7000 free electricity! THAT IS £7000 FREE ELECTRICITY!!!!!!
well this is one of those rare cases of happy customers even after Bad Customer Service......
Scottish power - words fail me for them. I'm going to ring them again at the weekend and hope this time I get someone with a brain who can answer my question about a tariff. I don't think that last one I spoke to even knew he worked for Scottish power. I gave up and rung off.
ShellyAnn I used to work at the Cathcart call centre in the IT dept - It was an utter disgrace - the managers are all complete f************************* If you get put through to India or Pakistan hang up until you get the UK call centre - the overseas call centre is a disgrace they closed my case 5 times and were no help at all - Everyone at the call centre knows how bad it is since Iberdrola took over!
Yodel
Multiple times they have left my parcels outside in the rain. Even with instructions not to. If you complain to them they never get back to you
BT
I was overcharged even though it said on the contact 12 months and they didn't care.. except for getting paid. Robbery.
Talktalk
Terrible internet speeds, it kept dropping and was told it would improve within days. It didn't.
Plusnet
Same as BT (Plusnet is also part of BT).
Shutl
I set up everything up for my parcel to be collected but it never was, the customer reps told me each and every single time a carrier would come next day.. he didn't. Not once, not ever. But I'm at least glad no one came because from the reviews on Trustpilot I dodged a bullet as the package would have likely went "missing."
Atronica
Bought supposedly a new game and they sent me a used, greasy copy. Atronica kept claiming it was new but I took photos as evidence and they were clearly lying through their teeth. Thankfully, I got a full refund (via Flubit before they completely changed their website's format) but others weren't so lucky.
CeX at Walthamstow Central
This was a few years ago but it was so bad I've always loathed them ever since. Not all of the staff was terrible but a few of them were and especially the manager, he [the manager] mocked me in the back by repeating what I had said and I only wanted to make a simple return since I didn't really like the item and it was within the limit (1-2 day return).
