esaa - For years I have been giving money to various organisations claiming it will help end third world hunger, eye disease, water, I could go on. There is far too many charities saying the same thing - they are helping the less unfortunate.

The homeless around the U.K. could be living in buildings that were sealed off with metal doors or whatever it was, but they don't want to do so.

Or have them in hotels rather than the ones that arrive by boats.

I know that it can be depressing to think about all the suffering happening around the world but try not to dwell, just think that people do care, you only have to think about peoples response to natural disasters and various good causes. Lots of people routinely give to good causes.

I personally find that comforting.

You have a good heart and probably are an empath

When I feel down I just try and remember how minute my problems are compared to what other people are going through

It can be very depressing when you see so much pain and suffering, maybe take a break from the news and try to find a way you can help. You could volunteer or do a charity walk, meeting others who volunteer may help you see the good in the world.

Are you watching all the charity adverts that are on TV and social media? They're bound to get you down in the end.

We've stopped giving to any charities except for local ones that aren't run by mugs who are doing it for kudos. We give mostly to the animal shelter.

I have become numb to adverts now because it's continuous all day, every day.

There’s so so much happening in our world and too much suffering. It’s difficult watching the news and for this not to upset us. I try to stay positive and think of all the kind, loving and helpful people.
