Who Else Likes Doing Laundry in the Warm Weather?
Ask a Question
Anyone else likes doing the laundry ?!
I mean when hanging them outside in the warmer weather and finally there’s the sun ️ coming out! You get so happy knowing that your clothes will dry without having to hang them up on racks to dry or use the damn dryer!!
Ah the little things we enjoy in life have changed as you get older!
Don't like doing laundry ..ever although I love clothes that smell fresh from hanging on the line outdoors.
MelissaLee1 yes it’s an effort to damn hang all clothes outside but when it damn rains so annoying!!
But when all clothes are dried within a day is good! Means do t have to hang them on racks in patio to dry for couple of more days lol
I wouldn't say I enjoyed. But I do rather putting it outside. It takes less energy and we don't need to put the dehumidifiers on.
kitty88uk we use it a lot and empty it every day we've got two . one upstairs and one downstairs. The down stairs one is to dry the damp, and it's done a really good job. The upstairs one dose the washing. We do small loads to fit on two clothes horses and spread it out so got room to dry. We like it . I think one of them was £180 and the other £150.
Yup I can shove it out on the balcony. It drys quick and don't have hanging around the house
Jerseydrew yes that’s what I mean by liking how clothes drying up fast in much warmer weather! Rather than inside house which takes hours if not days to fully dry!
I do the same with mine just pop it in garden dand dries in quick time no waiting all day to
I absolutely love it nothing like pegging washing out on the line. The smell is gorgeous lovely and fresh it's almost therapeutic
sallylester1 haha yes finally someone else too knows what I mean!! that’s what I forgot to say that it’s kind of therapeutic!
In the summer I hunt things down to wash just to get them out out the fresh air to dry, nothing nicer than drying outdoors. I even had washing out Xmas Eve here and it air dried lovely, also picked a dry day last week to do the bedding and it air dried nicely.
Laundry has a much nicer smell and feel when dried outdoors I think. The only exception is pillowcases, as a hayfever sufferer I don't put them outdoors to keep them pollen free
Nadiaparveen yes I agree with you! I like them to dry within a day lol I mean they dry fast in patio on drying racks
Better in summer dries up fast in like an hour or two cause it’s so hot
I like to peg the washing on the line to dry. Even in winter if it’s windy I put the washing out to air. On my patio I have two clothes horses to put towels and other clothes on. I try no to use the radiators to dry clothing except when I need an item to wear the next day.
Kitty88uk, thank you. we have tried to peg out a few times, and every time we bring the washing in, it has pigeon mess on it, so we have to rewash it
I always try to take advantage of the warm weather, as it's a way helping towards reducing my carbon footprint.
Getting laundry done in the warm weather, means you can hang your washing outdoors to air dry and it's done in no time at all. It also provides a bit of shade, if you want to sit outdoors but out of the sun/ heat for a bit.
nadinegregg70 yes exactly so agree with you! Clothes dried much faster outside when there’s winds and sun!
It’s more preferable to do it in warmer weather, as the clothes actually dry! Hate it in the winter - cold and damp
I must admit that even in the summer I hang the clothes on the airer inside. The clothes line interferes with my son playing in the garden. Only thing I like about doing laundry in the summer is how fast it dries.
I did two washes today and hang them out. But I am still going to the launderette to them a "warm" drying. No way do I wear or use anything dried outside in this weather. The launderette for me.
I like doing the laundry in war. Weather ,because by being fortunate of having a washing line, the drying is easier & fresher if their is a little wind.
I used to love doing laundry in the warm weather (before disability). I loved the smell of pegging out freshly washed clothing and bits. Unfortunately they have put me in Council accommodation and my neighbour throws cat poo at me if I go into my garden so I daren't even ask my carer to peg some out. I complained to the Council but they made things worse by telling her I had complained. I miss using my garden and being able to have my washing hung outside. It's far more expensive using the tumble drier.
EmmaWright762 Why does she throw that at you? Can you not prevent her from doing so? E.g high fence or something?
JLouM She obviously has some issues which I am neither qualified to even guess at. She throws it over the fence. Btw I do not have a cat she is just a very different unusual person.
EmmaWright762 omfg that’s sh*t awful why the hell would she do that?!! Makes absolutely no sense? That’s sh*t outright bullying!!
kitty88uk I don't think she is well in her mind. Make's me greatful my problems are only physical.
