Bad Customer Service at Morrisons

Ask a Question

Just wondering how others have found Morrisons customer service? They have been really poor with me.

I found a pip in my cereal, which was a Morrisons brand, and they have been ignoring emails and not responding to any information i have sent. I've now resulted to contacting them on facebook to see when they receive my images and information, because i genuinely feel ignored.

sorry for the rant, but i am frustrated!

I saw in out local Morrison that they keep stock under the shelves...which should be in the back in the stock room.

Their customer service is not nice...never been nice.

My Morrisons store has great customer service. Have you though that maybe they are understaffed due to Covid? What type of cereal?

I have been more than patient with them having found the pick 3/4 weeks ago. I dont expect it to be resolved immediately but some communication would be appreciated so I know what's happening

It was the red berry special flakes

LaurenCook I always take the offending object with original item back to the store, at best you get a replacement and they tell you that eg 'as it was produced/manufactured using …………. in a factory where …………...….. are present they can't guarantee that some will not get mixed in'.

You found a pip in your berry cereal?

Funnily enough, red berries tend to have pips in them.

Am I missing something here? 🤔

A choking hazard is a serious complaint. But I didnt ask for you opinion on the complaint. Rather other peoples experience on morrisons customer service

LaurenCook I find Morrisons great.

How big was this 'pip'?

TheChimp well I'm glad that's your experience.

It was a cherry stone. Which was a substantial size and luckily was in my bowl and not my childs

LaurenCook Maybe there's an address on the box/packet that you could send it to?

Should have taken it back to the store really, they would have replaced or refunded it for you.

Customer service at Morrsions never really great anyway but at the moment bear in mind they are working on low staff levels who are busier than usual anyway.

A cherry stone that a child could choke on? Yes I do expect them to reply

I have never had any issues with Morrisons customer service. I had 2 UHT milks that were off when I opened them, they dealt with it quickly and I got a refund and a replacement. It is always best to take the item into store and get it dealt with there.

Personally if I found a pip in that kind of cereal it wouldn't bother me, I would just pick it out.

Oh dear, first world problems eh? There are 3rd world countries where kids would love a box of cereal, pips not withstanding. I would only return something if it was off or injurious to health.

I was concerned about other peoples experience of customer service in morrisons. Not your opinion on my complaint

I dont really appreciate the rude comments. It was a cherry stone which a child could choke on. I would have gone in store but I am self isolating.

Customer service no matter the complaint was my issue. Not to have additional comments that I shouldnt have complained. I'm the customer and I am within my rights to expect a reply from them.

I don't think anyone was intentionally trying to be rude. I certainly wasn't and apologise if it came across that way. When you said pip I was imagining something the size of an apple pip, quite small, but a cherry stone is definitely a chocking hazard. I would keep chasing them about it but from what I have seen on a number of different social media lots of people are having issues with lots of different companies so it might just take a while.

MrsCraig to be fair when I posted I didnt think i needed to divulge details of my complaint as it wasnt about my complaint, it was the lack of communication. I was curious to know other peoples experience of their customer service and whether they are being slow to reply to everyone or whether I was an isolated case which therefore meant i needed to contact them via other methods.

I appreciate you apologising. Things come across differently over the internet. This is a group for advice and information and that's all I sought not judgement 🙂

LaurenCook No-one was really having a go at you, but you said it was a 'pip' as opposed to a 'stone', which could be a choking hazard.

As MrsCraig says, if you'd have said that from the start, no-one would have had commented badly.

We're all here to help, but if we don't have the full details, we can't.

TheChimp but my comment was not about the details of the complaint. Which again I didnt feel I needed to disclose. I was asking about individuals experience at their morrisons

Ive had more bad experiences at Morrisons than good. My local Morrisons seems to be full of idiots. No common sense or anything

This is my second issue I've had with them in less than 2 weeks. So I'm not best pleased. I understand services are stretched. And probably feel really stressed. But I've either found them rude, ignorant or incredibly unhelpful!

LaurenCook I stopped going into my local morrisons last year due to issues with staff. I once had a member of staff take the mick out of my friend for being disabled (cerebral palsy) found it disgusting the pair of them stood their making jokes and laughing so i snapped back, they thought it was all a laugh. Wasnt laughing when I reported both staff to head office, he didnt half give me death stare after that.

chelseaturpin that is really disgusting behaviour. I'm sorry your friend had such an appalling service 😞 that is so horrible. Everyone talks about being kind to everyone, but people can be so unnecessarily rude and cruel

I used to shop in Morrison and when complained on Twitter I always got by post vouchers to use in store , I know that if you complain in store the manager don‘t care much , that’s any supermarket really but on Twitter if you message them they are really good

They’ve never been good. They’re one of the only supermarkets that seem to always have problems accepting coupons, and I mean way before this pandemic. They will make you wait for them to call their head office to talk to someone about accepting them. But as with any complaint, be persistent as they normally finally address matters, and they've compensated me in the past

That's good. I will carry on being persistent then. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with negative experiences with them xx
