Do You Park Your Car in Your Garage
Ask a Question
I was just watching Love It or List it and Kirsty said only 24% of people in the UK use their garage to park their car. What do you use your garage for ?
Ours is a home gym you couldn’t get a smart car in a new build garage and get out every body in street that’s 285 houses who have garage but don’t park cars in we use drive whice has parking space for 2
beccatavender I hate having stuff hanging around only Xmas decorations which are in attic. And a shed out back for bikes. My hubby’s happy place in there with his beer and bathroom
We down sized a few years ago and had to get rid of a lot of clutter we kept in the garage and shed, we now live a terrace house no garage Ann1984
beccatavender now that would finish me because he has his space I have mine if we had to move he would have summer house in garden for gym that’s one thing he can’t live without plus he has toolbox that takes up half the one wall
My husband has a shed, aka the man shed, he has a TV, playstation, beer fridge, settee and his books. I think that's the only reason we have got through lockdown Ann1984
beccatavender yep me time is important in any relationship. Some men hide on the toilet this was mine when had a house no spare room or garage. He now has a whole floor to his self
What used to be my garage is now my dining room part of the kitchen/diner lol. It is no loss as you could not open the car door if you drove into the garage anyway.
That was what Kirsty was suggested in the programme it looked fantastic after the renovation, they decided to stay, no surprise
No way , its full of tools, gardening stuff , beer and gawd knows what else . However as I walk down the road I so admire those that have everything neatly stored on shelves and mowers etc hung on the wall leaving room for their cars .
My car hasn’t been in the garage for over 20 years. keep Cleaning it out and it fills up again. Anyway I’m too lazy to put the car in anyway this years agenda is to put up more storage racks and give it a good clear out so that we can actually get in the door and use it
Don’t have a garage now but when i did it was definitely a storage area, no room to park a car
We have a garage but mainly use it for storage. I know a lot of people with garages but also use it for storage, my parents however are the only people I know that actually park the car in theirs
I have a massive garage and I don’t park my car in it unless going on holiday. My garage is full of all sorts but I think it comes down to laziness x
We don't have one so it's not used for anything, dad says cars dont need to be under cover nowadays?
Yes we park one car in garage these days plus loads of bikes and rubbish. Years ago both cars were in there but my husband is a keen cyclist nowadays.
People are too lazy to get out of their car and open the door. And they also have perfect big driveways but still want to park on the road outside their house so they can claim the road outside as there’s. When it’s a public road.
I find this a lot near me. People get territorial and need to grow Up and not be so selfish
We haven't got a garage. My parents have a double garage but only one car fits in it as the chest freezer, tumble dryer, dads golf clubs, big bags of bird seed, bags of cat biscuits and more are also in there.
We don't have a garage. I wish we did. Getting parked outside our property or even in our street is a nightmare. We have several neighbours with 2-3 vehicles who have garages &/or driveway but don't use either. We are also on the bus route into twn centre so we get people parking outside ours who then get bus into town.
We are lucky enough to have a big garage so I do put my car away. I am undecided as to if it’s a good thing to do as I had a problem in the first lockdown when mice nibbled through the wiring and I broke down at Sainsbury’s roundabout.
