Do You Prefer Shopping in Store or Online for Clothes?

Ask a Question

I much prefer in store as I can see exactly what I am getting, especially the material. I have been disappointed when I have received clothing in the post and the quality has been so bad.

Online, and I only buy if return's are free, our local town centre has nothing to offer, unless you want a mobile phone or a charity shop

Store definitely as I'm tall so are my kids it's a nightmare trying to get stuff online as they never fit on the arms always to short

Prefer in store but so many less shops now. I look at clothes I already have that fit and base my size on that. I’ve got a raincoat from millets which I ordered online and was very pleased with that. Only thing is you have to pay delivery and wait nearly a week to get it. In a shop you pay and it’s with you instantly.

I like to try on clothes in-store due to whichever country they have been manufactured. It's the same with shoes as they can be either narrow or a tight fit.

Sugarbabe That is so true, you never what size it is going to be, I much prefer shopping in store to get the right fit

I don't mind buying online, but I will only buy clothes online from certain places. If it is shoes then it has to be in store.

MrsCraig I only shop online if it is for first time buyer using different cashbacks. I got £25 from Quidco and last month I purchased a cardigan (I haven't open it yet!), so I don't know if it will fit me! The cashback from TopCashback will be £25. I don't care if the cardigan fits or not, I am only interested in the cashbacks. I will be joining more cashback sites for the introductory offers.

In store to check quality/material but on-line for better prices. I only buy on-line if returns are free 😃

I prefer in-store because sometimes theres clearance/sales on, that are not included online. However when I do try and shop online the clearance items are all sold. I also like In-stores because I get to see the product and feel it where as, online you can't do that.

always online- fabulous to browse with no one pushing you because they want to see, or huffing because you are taking your time....online every time

In store is better cause you can see and feel the item in person but online is a lot more convenient. I know most online retailers do free returns but i try not to do that due to the impact on the environment

jms19 I totally agree with you although I don’t think shopping online is more convenient especially if you need to return

eyeballkerry yeah that’s true but at the same time the shops close at 17:30 but online is open 24/7. I agree though if you have to return it can be more bother

High street to enable me to see & feel the quality. I begrudge having to pay return postage. I also like to see where items are made as I'm sick of MADE in CHINA.

Depends where I'm buying with clothes I'd say in store is better you can actually see & feel the item & try it on. Online it's a guessing game sometimes and hoping for the best

I hate clothes shopping in general, but most of my clothes are second hand from charity shops apart from underwear etc. I occasionally end up buying new trousers for work which I will order and pay online but collect from my local Asda so I can return them if needed, and also its often the only way to get them in the size I want as the local store is not very good at stocking all the sizes!

For me I much prefer to shop in store as I like to feel the material and try the clothes on if I can, I have ordered online but by past experience it usually goes back, for clothes that is.

eyeballkerry Absolutely, I also find that things i've ordered online are never the same as how they look in the pictures and quality sometimes not very good, we live and learn.

Around me we don't have many clothing stores which aren't Primark or the supermarkets so often have to order online. Even for my grandmother I've often ordered her clothes online for her.

Online for the win. Hate actual shopping in actual shop's. Try not to go near actual shops

Jerseydrew I much prefer looking around, than searching online. I know there is less choice these days but prefer to see the item.
