Do You Sit down to Eat with the Whole Family?
Ask a Question
1 thing we have actually enjoyed and it is at least once a day we enjoy a family meal without any hint of phones, tablets, laptops or tv on and when not eating we are enjoying a wonderful thing called chatting.
Do you look forward to sitting down to eat and chat ?
We chat a lot but don't all sit together to eat very often. We eat different things and at different times so it's not really practical for everyone to eat together that often.
We always make a point of sitting down as a family for the evening meal.
Can't really do it at breakfast or lunch as people eat at different times.
We have always sat down and had dinner together. My husband and son have breakfast together most mornings and my son and I have lunch together. It is something we have always done.
I sit at the table and talk to the tv if that counts lol.
As the kids grew we always sat at the table to eat and it was before technology so chatting was the norm.
There was none of this fussy eating, we all ate the same and the kids didn't snack so always ate heartily after washing hands and sitting down.
Now in their 40s both of them and their families sit at table to eat and phones aren't allowed. My son gets a ticking off from his wife if he picks his phone up, but on the odd occasion he has to answer as it is business not pleasure.
I’m desperately looking for a new house so I have a dining area and can have a table to sit at as a family now we have a baby but theres nothing on the market suitable and hasnt been for months
We always sit at the table for dinner as a family, I think it helps with communication but also just being together if not so not they would in different directions separate so I prefer us all together. Also gives us a chance to have a good chat too my kids are 4, 11 and 12.
My 4 year old now loves being at the table.
I would love just to make the same dinner for everyone i have to cook 3 different dinners a night lol
Leannexxx we take turns choosing meals if you don't want it or something similar you make your own
Leannexxx so he better cook than my fella then. I'm lucky there my daughter cooks for all of us sometimes has done for few years
Not usually my sons are usually eating their tea or already finished when my OH gets in so then me and OH sit on the couch
4 adults with various working schedules it's impossible. Sundays are usually the only day we enjoy a meal together, typically a roast dinner. Which we have a catch up over.
The world is changing we're all on our phones all the time and don't have time for each other.
Not really. When we do eat out, that’s a proper family moment, no phones, just eating and chatting. But at home, it’s not very traditional
We always sit and eat together its when we sit and tell each other how our day as been,or to tell each other if there is anything bothering us or need help with anything
Mostly, we try to now we are all working from home. Sometimes it’s difficult when you’re working ij the evenings
