Has Today Been Good, Bad or Indifferent for You?
Ask a Question
I like to think I'm not superstitious. However, come what may if I realise it's Friday 13th I get the heebie jeebies. Today I woke up feeling rough but not too bad (nothing serious), then my daughter rang as she has been sent home from work to self isolate, feels dreadful and is stressed about getting my grandaughter to school and my son failed his driving test (who books one on Friday 13th ). So today's been a pretty meh day (don't know if meh is a word but son uses it and it sums up today ). How has it been for you?
Iv had a very meh day too. Had a terrible sleep last night due to back pain. Iv got an infection that just wont go away, phoned my dr this morn to be told my GP is not seeing patients to limit contact due to covid-19 , waited a couple hours for a call back to be told he suspects I have kidney stones, so I'm now waiting for a scan appointment & on my 3rd course of antibiotics in a number of weeks. I suspect the scan will also take longer to happen because of the virus.
My son has his driving test coming up but he's keeping secret when it is.
Glitterandgold I'm sorry to hear that, it's definitely not a good time to be ill at the moment. I didn't know that my son was doing his test today, he just messaged me to tell me he failed. My daughter failed 4 or 5 times, sometimes I knew she was taking a test and others I didn't, kids eh and mine aren't even kids anymore. I hope your pain eases and they get you sorted soon.xx
Janhrrs I really shouldn't complain, theres going to be many people far worse off & disrupted than I am, more so if lockdown does happen. It's a crazy time!
My son is actually taking his theory soon not his actual test, but he wont tell us when either is which is his prerogative but I hate not knowing cos I'm a nosy mam . Its a shame your son failed but theres always next time & at least he'll know where hes went wrong, sometimes I think it depends on the examiner you get.
Glitterandgold I know lock down is a worrying prospect. We went and picked my grandaughter up this morning, she's only 6 and being at home with her mum self isolating isn't ideal. Apparently she should still be going to school though so I really don't get this, lol. I shouldn't worry about complaining, yes things are always worse for some poor sod somewhere but that doesn't mean you're in less pain.x
Janhrrs No, a 6 year old in isolation is not ideal at all is it. I know that my son has been told by a teacher at his college that they fully expect to close before the Easter term (likely to be all schools) & that all work will be done over the internet. My son has A level exams coming up so it is really not ideal & very worrying how they are going to be affected.
I’m going to go with meh too. Found out dad can’t have any more treatment for his cancer and time is short, looking at the bigger picture he was given 6 months and that was 3 years ago! Janhrrs I hope your daughter is ok we have loads of confirmed cases in our city, only a matter of time before we are all in lockdown x
KimEwbank I'm sorry to hear that, a very hard time for you at the moment then. It is worrying but I'm pretty sure she just has her normal sinusitis but her work panicked and sent her straight home. What I really don't understand though is my grandaughter is 6 they have said children in particular may well just be carriers without any symptoms and spread the disease. Yet they have told my daughter to self isolate but it's OK for my grandaughter to continue going to school. To be honest I think it would be better if there was some type of lock down. Also as they don't test for at least a week and possibly longer then it would seem more likely to spread, well that's how it seems to me but who knows.x
