What Do You Use to Defrost Your Car Windscreen ?

Ask a Question

I used to use use hot water and a scraper if i didnt have a spray de-icer

I also tend to cover the screen with newspaper if the frost is bad

What methods have or do you use to get the windscreen clear in the winter ?

By pouring warm (not boiling hot) water or using de-icer (aerosol)

I am lucky as my car goes in the garage but if it gets frost on when I am out it has a heated screen and heated wing mirrors

Just water from the tap. I fill up an empty plastic milk bottle with water and use that. If we expect a severe frost, I put a blanket over the windscreen.

My first winter driving I put boiling water on it no one ever told me turned out the windscreen was worth more than the car so scraped it

Hot breath .I have plenty lol.Seriously I'd have to buy a car and then learn to drive.Kinda left things a little too late.I'm that annoying relative who someone has to stay sober for and ferry home.

The sun, working from home has its advantages. When I had to face the frosty Morning bio ethanol de-icer.

I usually put a screen protector on at night when I know it's going to be icy, if I get caught out I use warm water from the tap and pour it on, always being careful to start the pouring from the roof to take some more of the heat out, I also keep a De-icer in the car just in case it's it freezes when not at home.

Fill a freezer bag with hot water and rub it over your windscreen. Keeps your hands warm too!!

Thankfully my car has heated windscreen and mirrors so defrosts itself in a min or so, pity heating in the car is not as quick nor do I have a heated steering wheel 😞 so it's cold inside
