Welsh Covid Passport - Process a Joke

Just took me an age to upload all my details/ID to get a Covid passport for Wales. I followed all the instructions from the Welsh gov site and after about 3/4 of an hour, I got all my details accepted (Hooray!)

After about another 10 minutes of trying to sign in to the NHS website, I finally got my passport...... VALID IN ENGLAND

Honestly, I think that the majority of the Senedd (Welsh government) and the app developers probably starred in the PG Tips chimps tea party adverts in the 70s/80s.

I've got the right hump

Anyone else had problems?

Did mine Friday after the announcement - was very quick but was definitely the Welsh one. has to upload my passport or driving license then had to turn my camera on and say numbers and get text and email verification took about 10 minutes. Why they couldn’t of had a U.K. wide one is beyond me! Good luck this is the link I used

emmabeckz Yep, that's the site I used. Had an absolute nightmare with it, especially with uploading my ID.

I know that the Welsh passports aren't needed until October, but why is my passport expiring on 20th of next month? I'm not going to be less double jabbed on the 21st.

I'd check your expiry, if I was you.

TheChimp I think you have to get a new passport every month as it logs lateral flow tests too so you need to log on to get a neW date generated if that makes sense?

I know that you have to have a lateral flow if you haven't had the vaccination, but where's the point in updating your passport details every month? You can't be un-stabbed, so what's the point?

I'm looking forward to my booster soon and then I'll maybe get a MEGA passport
