What's the Best Type of Soup on a Cold Day?
Ask a Question
I like my home made Leak and potato with 3 buttered slices of toast
But I rememer my mum made Chicken noodle with warm crusty bread and butter
So I like both of these
What do you think?
RegularComper90 indeed! It’s certainly one way to stay warm in these colder, winters days
Leek and Potato is nice but I love Cream of Broccoli as well .Can't go far wrong with a nice cream chicken or mushroom soup either. Fresh warm crusty bread with loads of butter is a crucial side.
Chicken or mushroom or homemade cream of broccoli soup! My kids love soup and we always have it with crusty bread. I can't stand tomato soup though.
One favourite of mine is red pepper and sweet potato but we basically have a different soup each week depending on what I've got on yellow label. We've just finished the parsnip, leek and mustard.
Grannyclock parsnip, leek and mustard sounds amazing. I have just made curried pumpkin soup
My favourite Winer soup is pea and ham, with some nice crusty bread or leek and potato. I buy the Covent Garden fresh soup. Ideal for one. I used to make my own, but I like variety.
Got to be a huge pot of lentil soup ! I learnt from my nana growing up . Fond memories of weekends cutting veg and making soup with my nana
Spicy parsnip soup or tomato soup are my favourites. I haven’t made either in a long time now though.
It’s got to be homemade lentil soup like I was taught with my nana growing up . Yum !! With some nice crusty bread with butter .
I always make my own soup, my partner loves celery and potato but I don't think that you can beat good old vegetable. I bulk cook and freeze, so handy on them what shall we have days.
Soup is hard to beat for a meal that fills you up and warms you up! I like most varieties apart from a few mentioned such as broccoli and stilton . If I make my own I often get some bacon misshapes and then add lentils and whatever veg needs using up. Plenty of fresh bread too but never buttered for me.
Mulligatawny. Enough spice, to warm up anyone. Also, easy to make your own with enough heat to suit your taste.
Tomato soup with bacon in or chicken soup with a sprinkling of curry powder in chicken noodle soup or good old fashioned homemade vegetable soup
Heinz tomato soup with chopped bacon added or Heinz chicken soup with a sprinkle of curry powder stirred in on a cold day or chicken noodle soup if I am poorly
Home made minestrone soup, using up all the random veg in the fridge and a tin of chopped tomatoes, lots of herbs and into the slow cooker for a few hours. Unbeatable with crusty lurpak loaded bread.Enjoy
For me it has to be any homemade dislike the tin stuff and crusty bread to dip in pea n ham gotta be the best
Vegetable with lentils. I make my own and not made it for ages. With some nice crunchy bread
It has to be tomato soup for me, I have never been very adventurous with soup. I love dipping in bread and cheese.
used to like the chunky Big Soups - the vegetarian ones anyway. Always spiced them up a fair bit though.
