Available from ASDA
Comment12

Thought that this was worth a mention as Christmas can be quite expensive and every little helps!

Asda run a Christmas Savings Card and you can top up as little or as much as you want each week when you are in there doing your weekly shop. You can top it up at and checkout including self scan and scan and go.

Pick up a card in store, register it online to protect your balance (Stops you loosing your money if you loose your card)

You can save up to a maximum of £485 on one savings card but you only need to have £280 on it to get the maximum £15 bonus and you can have as many cards as you like so if you have more than £280, its worth getting another card.

The qualifying date to get the bonus is 5pm 15th November and you get the following amounts added to your card.

  • Save £280+ and receive a £15 bonus
  • Save £230-£279 and receive a £12 bonus
  • Save £180-£229 and receive a £9 bonus
  • Save £130-179 and receive a £6 bonus
  • Save £80-£129 and receive a £3 bonus
  • Save £30-£79 and receive a £1 bonus

I know I spend quite a bit in the supermarket in December so to get £15 extra for free just for being organised is great!

They put the bonus on the card so you have to spend it in Asda yes but obviously there’s George too

Does anybody know if you can put £280 on the card on say the morning of 17 November, and receive 5.35% interest in one day?

Yep exactly right. As long as the balance says £280 by 5pm on 17th, you get the full £15 bonus on the 18th added to balance plus you can have multiple cards too if you want 2 x £280 etc...

emmabeckz Thanks. The only 'drawback' is presumably you have to spend all the money in Asda. Aldi across the road (for me) is more often cheaper !!

martinrosen Yep but you can also use in George section for their clothing and they have decent sales on plus Asda also sell discounted gift cards about 4 times a year for Pizza Hut, Odeon, Pizza Express, New Look and iTunes etc so you save more. Usually 15% - 20% off and 10% on iTunes so you could get quite a stack going! 😉
