myWaitrose: Everything You Need To Know About The Loyalty Scheme
myWaitrose is Waitrose’s loyalty scheme. If you shop at Waitrose, you should be a myWaitrose member. You can earn freebies, exclusive myWaitrose offers, and member-only rewards. In this guide we’ll break down how to join myWaitrose, what you get, and how to maximise your rewards and freebies.
What is myWaitrose?
myWaitrose is Waitrose’s loyalty programme, similar to Sparks for Marks & Spencer or Clubcard for Tesco.
myWaitrose members get access to exclusive offers and savings, freebies and perks. If you shop at Waitrose at all, it’s worth signing up for a myWaitrose card, so you can take advantage of these rewards.
How to join myWaitrose
You can sign up to a myWaitrose account here.
You’ll need to input your details and choose a password to create an account, and you’ll then be asked if you want to join myWaitrose. You need to click ‘Join myWaitrose’ to become a member.
You can then click ‘accept’ to receiving offers and news, so you can make the most of the myWaitrose perks.
You’ll automatically get a myWaitrose digital card, which you can add to your Apple Wallet. Or, you can download the myWaitrose app, log in, and view your digital card there.
You can download the myWaitrose app for Apple or Android.
Remember, you need to scan your myWaitrose card everytime you shop to get rewards and personalised offers.
If you’d prefer a physical card, you’ll need to wait 3 days after setting up your myWaitrose account. You can then request one by logging into your account and following the steps in the ‘card & details’ section.
What do you get with myWaitrose?
myWaitrose Vouchers
Everytime you shop at Waitrose and scan your myWaitrose card, they’ll get to know your shopping habits and preferences. Every week you’ll get personalised vouchers so you can save on items you’d be buying anyway.
myWaitrose Offers
myWaitrose members also get access to exclusive offers in store and online. You can save up to 25% off selected lines, and you can view these offers online here.
They change regularly, so it’s worth keeping an eye on them to see if anything appeals to you. For example, offers may include 20% off Brioche Rolls, 20% off Rude Health Almond Milk, 20% off Boursin Garlic and Herb Dip and so on.
myWaitrose card holders can utilise their Sizzling Saturday offer, which gets you 20% off selected meat from the counter on Saturdays, and their Fish Friday offer, which gets you 20% off selected fish from the counter on Fridays.
myWaitrose Free Coffee
One of the most well known myWaitrose perks is their free coffee. myWaitrose members can get a free coffee with any purchase in store. All you need to do is bring a reusable cup with you, buy something, and enjoy a Nero Roasting Company coffee from their self-serve machines.
Scan, Pay, Go
If you are a myWaitrose member you can use their ScanPayGo feature. This means you can scan and pack your shopping as you go, and then pay at one of their Self Checkout areas. The idea is that you can save time as you don’t need to queue to pay.
You can either scan using a handset located in store, or you can use the myWaitrose app to scan your shopping as you go.
myWaitrose Cashback
Unlike with other supermarkets, you don’t earn points on your shopping with myWaitrose, so there isn’t the opportunity to earn money back on your spending.
However, if you’re a myWaitrose member and you have a Vitality health or life insurance policy, you can get up to 25% cashback on Waitrose Good Health items.
Other myWaitrose Rewards
Those are the main myWaitrose rewards, but you’ll also get some other perks. You’ll get a free copy of the Waitrose Magazine, 5% off dry cleaning and laundry at selected Jordan’s the Cleaners stores, and 10% off the Waitrose cookery school.
How does myWaitrose compare to other supermarket loyalty schemes?
It goes without saying that if you shop at Waitrose, you should have a myWaitrose card. Whether you do your weekly food shop there, or you occasionally pop in as a treat, you may as well sign up to get exclusive offers and personalised rewards.
In terms of how it compares to other schemes, it isn’t the best supermarket rewards programme out there. Unlike Sainsbury’s Nectar and Tesco Clubcard, for example, you won’t get the opportunity to earn points which can then be converted into money back on your shopping. The myWaitrose scheme is more about getting access to offers on particular items, rather than saving on the value of your food shop as a whole.
So, it’s definitely not the best scheme out there, but as I said, anything is better than nothing, so it’s well worth signing up to myWaitrose.
