Air Fryer or not...
Ask a Question
Whats peoples views on air fryers, do chips come out just like crispy like from a deep fat fryer or is it just like cooking chips in an oven?
Not much help from me I'm afraid. I once won one but it looked such a faff and I lacked worktop space so I haven't ever used it!
I have an air fryer and the chips came out good. I am trying to figure out how to make it crispy. I will also want to make chicken and other items in the air fryer as it was advertised. It's healthier to make it in the air fryer so if it works out ill use it more often.
I do french fries pretty regularly at 150 Celsius degrees for about 14 minutes, once done I leave them inside.
If you are doing french fries for a lot of people then you need more time and to flip them otherwise it's good as it is.
Yes definitely, I’ve cooked a lot of things in mine. The biggest hit was home made scotch eggs. A lot better than deep frying!
BORDERJOE I’ve even cooked frozen sausage rolls in them, they even came out lovely. (I didn’t want to turn oven on as it was a hot summers day and was getting bits ready for a little picnic)
We have an air fryer and we love it! You can cook loads of stuff in it. Chips are amazing in it, so are lots of other foods. I've done chicken, fish, sausages, roast potatoes, they were all delicious.
I love my air fryer and it was paid for by my survey earnings etc which makes it even better!
BORDERJOE i have vouchers for amazon from surveys will be using these to purchase one or get it from my catalogue going to have a look as i have finally decided to buy one.
Think ill will have to buy one, hate deep fat fryers not had one for a year as made the kitchen smell and dont seem taste the same in oven thanks guys x
smedleys97 i think they are great! Much quicker than the oven and healthier than the deep fat fryer. What more could we want?!
Recently got the tefal one and honestly don't know how I've done without it for so long they are a amazing.
Don’t know what I would do without mine! Everything goes in it, kids fishfingers, pizza’s fishcakes the lot. Chips don’t come out crispy, well they don’t for me anyway. They just come out like in the oven
For you to do so many different things, which one do you have? Am away at mo so can't recall mine but have to admit it only gets used for veg/chips
I like mine (Also a Tefal) for how it cooks, but it’s a real nuisance to clean. Everything seems to get totally stuck to it and makes me end up not using it because of it. It could be I just got a bad one since everyone else is happy with theirs though. Maybe I should try a different brand.
The trouble is that they aren't cheap so it's a big step to have to replace a 'wrong buy'.
I would love to go back to old fashioned lard in a chip pan like my mum used to make but just scared I will burn the house down!!!
I'm EXACTLY the same - that's why I splurged my online earnings on one do feel safer and virtuous tho.
Had a Phillips air fryer for years and works great. I do currently use the halogen oven more partly because its better placed on the worktop but both are great and well used.
just ordered a 17l daewoo halogen air fryer cant wait to use and see what its like, thanks for all the comments guys x
sam30 thank you, cant wait to receive it just had email should be here for monday, hope its before though x
If you are buying one, get one with a digital screen and with at least 3-4L in case you want to do some batch cooking.
I won one as part of appliances competition win, pondered over keeping it or not, decided not to as my kitchen is running out of space. So I'll never know if it's good I managed to sell it so was happy with the money!
well to my mind that makes good sense.... spend the cash on something you're sure of-whatever the win
well received the air fryer today tested it out with fries and omg was they tasty so glad i got this, gunna try all sorts in it now x
