Air Fryer Really Necessary?
Ask a Question
Do you think air fryer is really required or just the oven is enough to do its job. I am confused with this. Anyways I don't add much oil while cooking with oven. So should I really go for the air fryer? If so,
Which air fryer is good to use?
Air fryer and halogen oven are similar so if you have one you may not need the other. Halogen has more cooking area. I have a Phillips air fryer and halogen both great devices. You are only heating a small area so can be very efficient the fan swirls fat particles so they work surprisingly well.
We tried an Air fryer but didn't like it, found the food cooked unevenly and was to dry, don't find oven cooking too bad, we often have oven chips etc,
I find oven chips taste best from an air fryer compared to a normal oven, the way the oil is circulated means the whole chip is crispy where as the same chips in a normal oven do not crisp up as much. To me some foods just taste far nicer in an air fryer.
Also those little mini pizzas you can get, when you cook them in the air fryer its soo much better it seems to add flavour.
I guess it depends on the model though. I've seen some air fryers that look absolutely horrible with very light plastic construction, they don't look like they have powerful fans or would hold the heat in.
I love my air fryer. It has practically replaced my oven. Plus, it keeps food warm if you do not open the drawer after cooking.
Can be a pain if cooking multiple items or a lot of chips but for a pie or burgers etc its great
I know its not the healthiest option(!) but you cant beat good old fashioned deep fat fryers when it comes to chips. That said I have been toying with the idea of an air fryer - but have yet to be convinced
