Are Airpods worth the Hype?

Ask a Question

I recently was gifted some apple airpods (very grateful!) before that I was using a cheap amazon brand which were knock off airpods. Although I love them, they're so small I am absolutely terrified of loosing them now, but I never felt like this about my cheap amazon ones. I even started recently looking at some headphones instead of earphones as they're much bigger and harder to lose! but I dont want my gift giver to be offended. Do you think airpods are worth the money? They do everything my fake ones did!

No they are not worth the hype. The price is high because they are Apple and their products are very well marketed.

No I think they’re bot necessary- though I’m sure they’re great quality, they’re easy to lose

My son has some apple ones they’re a few years old and broke last week. Unfortunately out of guarantee so I suggested buying some cheaper ones but he says he’ll miss the quality.

I don't use bluetooth headphones but I had a ipod in the past and the headphones with that were neither terrible nor great, sort of mid-level quality. When I changed the headphones the ipod sounded much better. I remember at the time I had an iriver mp3 player and despite being a fraction of the price of the ipod came with rebranded Sennheiser headphones which sounded much better. Apple is more a cosmetic or fashion brand its not about the product its about the brand. Apple will have its headphones made by another company in Asia for them and they won't pay too much for them but they won't be low quality either.

I use the fm radio built into my phone a lot when out and about on walks or at the beach etc and I have to use corded headphones as they also function as the fm antenna. FM might seem oldhat but the phone lasts something like 80-100hrs or more playing FM as it has such a low power requirement.

I have never bought air pods. my husband bought me a wireless set from Amazon for £10 and they are brilliant (one even went through the washing machine and survived)

I love my air pods and like you worry about losing them but what I do have for safety is an attachment that then attaches to my earrings. My daughter got them for me.

I use Apple Airpods Pro 2nd Gen, and they are by far the best I've used.

I've seen them fall out on planes and you see them in random places. I don't use headphones but if I did I'd go for the ones that go over your head

Jerseydrew yes, the girl next to me on a flight dropped one a take off and it rolled down the plane a bit, she went in panic mode 😂

I have them and I really like them. The best thing is probably the battery life, I can't remember the last time I charged mine, they just go on and on x

Karen331 Well I've got conventional wired headphones and don't remember charging them ever , they are always ready to use.

I personally think they aren’t worth all the hype and ££ you’re paying for the name. I’d definitely be concerned of losing them too so I’d be better off with the cheaper ones. I’m looking to book a holiday so would rather the holiday and a cheaper pair, than ***** loads on AirPods.

I don't think they are worth it. You could always wear them indoors if you're terrified of losing them 👍
