Ask a Question

I've been on Facebook and people all over have been complaining about Aldi how some of the food have gone out of date when it's well in date same with the milk so two weeks ago I got a golden veg rice got it home was having it for tea and there was mould in it I just put it in the bin and forgot all about it and yesterday I got some garlic naan breads to go with my curry for my tea tonight and get what dated till October 2024 and yet had mould in them so I phoned Aldi themselves to get told to take them back in store and get a refund they wasn't bothered at all like it's something they are getting use too well from now on I'm checking everything in store before I pay for anything

I did buy some microwave egg fried rice from there and when i opened it after cooking it had gone rotten and all to mush. I had only got it the week before, i contacted them and they sent me a £5 voucher

Leannexxx i think maybe because my rice was clearly spoiled beyond being mouldy and i sent pictures they probably sent me the voucher.

Pinkspirit I don't know what the issue with them it has to be where they are stored that's the only thing I can think of

Perhaps they have been trying to save energy costs by allowing food to be kept at a warmer temperature and this being the summer food will go off quicker. Although my nearest supermarket I don't buy much from Aldi. I just find it a fairly limited selection and many items poor quality but I have a small list of items that I do like to buy from Aldi which I think are good quality and well priced. For fruit and veg you can see the quality of them mostly and it can be a bit iffy at Aldi especially bananas. However was caught out by onions recently where I think 3 onions in a prepacked bag were rotten. In fact they looked a completely different age to the other onions in the bag.

I rarely buy fresh products from Aldi. But I do remember 5 years ago I bought cheese sticks for my son, they were well within date but were mouldy. I messaged them on fb with a picture as the store was 20 minutes away and didn't have time to go there. They sent me a £5 voucher in the post. Never had any issues since though.

When overseas I visit them a lot, but in the U.K. it's pretty rare I'd rather just use a more established grocery store with more variety.

Heck, Aldi in England don't even sell jamon flavored chips here while in Aldi Spain/Portugal they do that kinda upsets me not seeing it. I'd go to Aldi just for it if they had it.
