Aliexpress Singles Day - 11/11 Starts Tonight/tomorrow
Money Saving
Quite an important day in China where many stores offer discounting including big mail order companies like Aliexpress. I've had a look around and looks like there are some good offers coming up but also some prices that aren't quite as competitive as a week ago. So like any such event there are fake offers mixed in with genuine reductions. Worth collecting the voucher codes before it starts and don't forget to go through cashback sites like Topcashback or Quidco. Others have stated it's worth paying in dollars rather than pounds to get additional savings but that only benefits you if you can pay with a card that doesn't charge an additional amount for currency conversion.
I wasn't sure if this was going to appear, it took sometime from posting it to it actually appearing in the chat thread. It really is quite an important retail event though with some decent savings.
I'm looking to find a cheap GPU for a low cost gaming PC build. I'm only looking for something around 4-5 teraflops performance about the same as a Xbox One X. Looking to pay around £50 approx. It's got to go in a relatively small case with relatively low power PSU. So must be 150W or less. People might think this low performance but people are spending £800 or more on RTX 3050 mobile gaming laptops which perform at much lower frame rates than such cards as they only have 5.5 teraflops but are restricted by cut down features, power, cooling and memory bandwidth issues. So such a gaming PC will comfortably outperform such gaming laptops.
I like Ali express, for some reason Top cashback never tracks, even when I fill in a claim form, it's rejected
martinlufc5637 I generally find they track but often they reject cashback for no reason and Topcashback just accept it. I would say I probably get 75% of the cashback I should get from Topcashback. However there are worse companies for me like Argos where the cashback never tracks and they refuse the claim saying the affiliate money was claimed by another company but they never tell me who that is, very frustrating. Really not a fan of Argos or Nectar very dishonest anti-consumer companies.
I’ve just list some discount codes for Aliexpress. I can’t remember using the site but assume the codes are valid for everyone.
telmel There are some decent offers there but what I find annoying is how hard it is to find the best price for the same item. By looking around the site you can find the same item at quite a range of different prices. Their search system is fairly useless so its quite time consuming finding what you want. I noticed yesterday that many items were a little more expensive than before the singles day, others were genuine reductions with limited stock. As ever it was a mixture of good deals and fake deals.
BonzoBanana Yes you have to be careful B
Its like Temu , i have ordered a fair amount from them but you have to search for the lower prices , you can have a large difference in price if you go for the first item that shows , i spend time scrolling through to find the cheapest, then check the reviews and try to suss out the fake ones, usually all the fake ones are bulked together and the genuine lower star ones will be at the end
