Amazon Will Not Give Me a Free Delivery Option for a Order over £35!

Maybe Amazon are increasing the free postage amount again as I've just tried an order which is over £50 before the reduction and still over £35 with the reduction. It could be a glitch with the site but I suspect they are trying to force more people onto prime again where they make huge money through vampire payments. A bit annoying to say the least. There is absolutely zero chance me subscribing to prime though.
That's weird it should have free delivery as it is over £35.

PhilipMarc Maybe because its a PC case but these are very small cases and very light. They don't seem like a large item to me but perhaps they are grouped in with larger PC cases but in the past those cases were still posted free if you went over the price threshold. Amazon sell much larger items, microwaves, desktop pcs with monitors, bicycles etc, etc. My mother is doing a prime trial at the moment so just ordered it through her account. She only lives about a five minute walk away from me.
I've had the same a good few times because I won't join up to prime it depends if it's from amazon themselves what your ordering
Leannexxx It is from Amazon its their reuse products shipped by Amazon themselves and in the past had the same delivery costs as normal Amazon purchases. Maybe Amazon are getting annoyed with people who do prime trials but never subscribe. Prime is £9 a month which is £108 a year or £540 over 5 years. These vampire payments add up to be significant causes of debt for a lot of people. Many of which take little advantage of prime benefits. I had a look at recent prime offerings for movies and TV and personally I wasn't impressed at all. It's not just the damage to an individuals bank account but the damage to the economy and cause of a trading deficit which causes more borrowing and more destruction to public services like the NHS etc. People need to take responsibility in what they do financially but they rarely do.
BonzoBanana something is not right we them can't even get stuff delivered to the post office now for free either
Leannexxx Royal Mail has become so unreliable recently plus they have massively increased some of their postage costs. These costs may have caused Amazon to increase their prices and non prime members will get the worst of it. I've had a parcel released from customs from Aliexpress on the 5th November into the hands of the Royal Mail and still not delivered. I have to wait another 10 days or so and then I get my refund for the order which was over £100 of stuff. You can't track it either that isn't working. I feel like Amazon are likely facing much higher courier costs plus more issues. Also Labour have added a lot of costs to employers like Amazon, Evri, Royal Mail, Yodel etc. These costs have to be factored in which I guess means higher prices or high price free delivery thresholds. We are moving into the time of year when couriers are under the greatest strain and more parcels are damaged or lost.
That’s a shame, do you know anyone with Prime who could get it for you and get it delivered to your address? I’ve done this a few times for friends?
Some items may be ineligible for FREE Delivery due to size or weight. Also free delivery must be the standard delivery on selected days. Premium delivery will always be 4.99 regardless how much you spend
SebK84 They are free on prime but not on a standard account even if over the price threshold. Size wise these are small cases, 16 inches by 14 inches by 10 inches boxed with a weight of around a couple of kgs I guess. They do not include a power supply its just thin sheet metal mainly. No warning at any point was given that these were classed as larger items.
BonzoBanana there is a option to choose free delivery. Try it again. I just added the cases and it showed 4.99 but you can choose a date with free delivery.

PhilipMarc the issue there is that op selected premium delivery. Free delivery for non prime members is on selected days and it has to be standard not premium
BonzoBanana in your screenshot it shows premium delivery and the only free delivery is standard delivery for non prime. Change it to standard delivery.
I had to log on to my non prime. I do have business prime and normal prime account
SebK84 It might work on the app but not on a standard browser as far as I can tell. I've not selected premium delivery its forced on me. However I am wondering if they are now hiding free delivery more than they used to. I guess the phone app doesn't have to pay affiliate income so is more profitable for them so maybe it is available there.

maybe its something to do with your location and distance from fulfillment centre, but I would contact cs.
SebK84 Yes down in the south west away from any motorways etc. The fulfilment centres are likely a long way away.
I try not to use Amazon anymore, I've seen and heard the way they treat their staff and other things. They've also made it fairly impossible to get any cashback from them, even cashback for charity, I used to like the Amazon Smile, but they stopped that too.
I don't think £8.99 a month is bad considering you get most things next day, free delivery, access to Amazon Video where you can watch many TV series and films and also access to Amazon music. If someone was going to use them and order 2 times within that month, that would be more than £8.99 anyway. Although I used to be on the 'family' bit of my partners, we do live together so I'm not sure why it stopped applying prime to my account. So he removed me to add me back but you can't add someone for 6 months, I think it is after removing someone. I guess this is to stop people hopping on and off their friends ones, but this is the same household for goodness sake and I was only removed as it stopped working. I'm hoping he will probably cancel it again once we've finished watching the shows we watch together on their though.
DeBunny The postage is free or was free if you order over a set amount so you don't need to pay postage for Amazon orders without prime. I find the prime video service very limited with not much I want to watch. Normally if I do a trial for a month I've exhausted all I want to watch. I've not used Amazon music but normally use youtube with adblockers and use utilities to save such music as mp3s. Then I can load up my phone or tablet with mp3s I can play anywhere without a internet connection.
I personally don't see a case for prime for me. However I tend to look around for pricing and would spend more on ebay or other online sites than Amazon. Amazon charges more fees to sellers than ebay so often products are more expensive on Amazon so I wouldn't want to pay a monthly subscription just to pay more for items. I feel prime makes you feel like once you have it you should use Amazon more because of prime postage but this could actually cost you much more when sellers on ebay or elsewhere can be significantly cheaper. Also marketplace sellers can be cheaper than Amazon themselves and offer free postage anyway without prime or are still cheaper with postage added. I just can't see the value in prime myself.
