Has Anyone Bought a Jo Malone Candle and Do You Think They Are worth the Money
Ask a Question
Hi I have been looking at jo malone candles for a long while ,has anyone bought one or received one as a gift ,£144 for a 600g one that burns for 90 hours
I have never bought one myself and certainly wouldn't at that price but I do have a couple that i've received for gifts but haven't used. These were bought from The Bicester Village outlet so probably a lot cheaper than from JO Malone shop but still expensive for what they are.
I've bought a cheaper one under the Jo Malone name as I loved the scent, but it was bought in TKMaxx, but I know TKMaxx have a lot of products that they buy the rights to use their names and you can tell by the number on the product code, not sure if I checked the number. Either way it smelt nice and was a decent price and product.
I knew they were pricey but didn't know you could get some at £144, that is a little excessive for me, I struggle to buy a decent scented candle over £20 and I'm a huge candle lover.
oh wow that is some price tag! id be tempted to buy one off ebay but then you cant guarantee its real and not a fake. but yeh i wouldn't spend that on a candle
SaveMeSunday yes its some price they have one at £350 does ebay sell them iam looking for a nice candle for show not to be used for my shelf lol thanks for your comment
No I wouldn't spend that, but i am a rep for a company called FM,(it works abit like avon) who do designer inspired candles, fragrances, make up ect at a fraction of the price, for example jo malone inspired candles £20-£40, fragrances such as channel, Dior, creed £20-£50, they don't come with the fancy packaging or bottles but the smells are very good matches for a fraction of the price of the real McCoy
slightfoot thats great to know iam going to look that up sounds great thanks for your comment
My p*ss is going to boil knowing that candles are selling for £144.
I can buy my cigarettes for a whole week for that.
If anyone is spreading £144 for a candle they have more money than sense even if I could afford that I still wouldn't pay it
I love scented candles and a Jo Malone candle is on my wish list, a small candle is about £28 at Lookfantastic, I think I would buy a small one first to see if they live up to the hype. But currently I have too many scented candles to justify it. My husband says I have a problem.
beccatavender pmsl my partner says the exact same I have candles everywhere in the house ones for show and ones you use lol he cracks up every time I go shopping I come back with more
kate1310 I'm glad I am not the only one, I bought a large Ritual candle which smelt divine, didn't tell my husband what it cost but consoled myself that I got a free gift with it
beccatavender your secret is safe with me lol how nice is ritual candles my partner got me a ritual advent calendar 2 years ago I got 4 small candles in it the calendar was gorgeous a wee village that lit up
£144 for a candle is obscene imo, I don’t know how good a candle can be but surely there isn’t one that’s actually worth that unless it last for years not 90 hours
I believe they’re gorgeous but I wouldn’t spend that much. However, Aldi do copies of them which I have.
I wouldn't buy a candle for that price even if I were rich. I went through a candle phase but now see them only as unnecessary expenditure and a fire risk.
No way am I paying that much for a candle.I could pay my travel and get food for a fortnight for that!
MelissaLee1 I know some people have to much money imagine what you could buy with all that money
I have a theory that they are only bought as gifts for other people. That's why they are pricy. When people receive them as a gift they know that they are expensive and probably for that reason never get lit!
Auntielettie yes I totally agree people must buy them as gifts as you would never spend all that for a candle for yourself I wouldn't want to light it just stare at it lol
Whilst I wouldn't pay that much for a candle I have discovered the hard way that the cheaper candles do not smell as strong as the more expensive ones. Aldi's for example have hardly any smell when burning compared to a more expensive (£10-£15) one.
I love neom oils. Not sure what candles are like though. But definitely cheaper than jo malone.
Anybargains never smelt any neom items will need to look them up thanks for commenting
I genuinely have no idea who jo Malone is to want to buy candles. Would i spend £144 no way, I struggle to justify £5 on a candle, actually I struggle to buy a candle at any price but that £144 is ridiculous
Aldi do 'hotel collection' which are Jo Malone dupes. Candles are £3.50 & perfume £6.99. My friend wears the perfume & it smells identical.
Iv bought the candles a few times & they are great. B&M even do dupes. I got pomegranate wax melts for 99p, test smell almost identical.
Anyone who'd pay such an obscene amount on a candle really ought to give their head a wobble. I can't imagine ever paying more than £20 ish, even then it would be as a special gift.
Glitterandgold I buy the aldi ones I like them can never get the perfume everything goes so quick in my store its even hard to get a candle I will need to look out for the wax melts in b&m I love the pomegranate candles yes iam the same I hate paying a lot for something for myself but don't mind for a gift thanks for commenting
Nope but a seller on ebay did as I got some bits in a Jo malone box. Box went to work for the kids to use
