Actually you maybe into something there. Iโ€™m more of a coffee drinker but I have a tea in the day from time to time and I noticed that ours was usually darker before but I didnโ€™t acknowledge it until i found this post. My next cuppa Iโ€™m going to test out.. even with my coffee!! X

LenoirLenoir I'm sure they have done something to Yorkshire tea bags or not much tea in each tea bag!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

LenoirLenoir Right now I am drinking Yorkshire Tea Decaf and it is too awful to describe. I might go back to PG Tips and Tetley tea bags. At least they are much cheaper to buy - 240 tea bags for ยฃ3.50-ยฃ4.00 compare to Yorkshire Tea on special offer - 80 bags for ยฃ2.49

Is that a particular brand or you are referring on common basis?

It'll be much easier, if you narrow down the path.

Much appreciated & thanks for contributing!

Yorkshire tea is a reasonably good cuppa when it's good but it varies so much from box to box. Why is this?! One box will make a decent cup of tea then the next box (same water, same teapot, same kettle, same brew time) makes a wishy washy cup of nothing. It doesn't seem to vary from bag to bag but literally from box to box. I've had to resort to throwing whole boxes away and am considering going back to PGtips.

I like my tea but I'm completely unfussy about it. Often preferring the cheaper weaker teabags. Even the weaker one cup teabags I can make do for two cups of tea. I guess I don't like my tea that strong.

I buy lidl or aldis own tea bags. I just leave the tea bag in for a bit longer to get it stronger. I don't notice the difference between the cheap and expensive teas so I just buy the cheap ones.

Maybe itโ€™s time to change your brand and try another. M&S Fairtrade Extra Strong Tea Bags are cheaper than Yorkshire so buy a packet. Let us know once youโ€™re tried them.

Yes I have noticed too and said this a while back to people I work with. Catering Tea Bags are prone to this especially If you get them at work. I like the Welsh Tea Bags but only get them when I am In Wales. They are stronger and since I can remember they have never changed. Always a nice cuppa.

rowley1943 The Tea Is called: Glengettie. Amazon sells It but Its really expensive. Supermarkets like ASDA In Wales does promotions from time to time so thats how I discovered It. I absolutely love It. But I am pretty sure you can get It anywhere considering Its Welsh.

Emerge11 Iโ€™ve not heard of Welsh teabags but doubt theyโ€™ll be good here because we have hard water.

I stopped drinking โ€˜normal teaโ€™ over five years and only drink green tea with lemon. These tea bags provide enough for both my daughter and I. But when I make my husbands tea with a branded make, as you say they are really weak.

This is difficult as everyone has such different tastes. I turned to coffee as my main beverage of choice many years ago as I just could not find a decent tea, you know the one that tastes delicious, is neither bitter nor weak but leaves you wanting another cup. I bought several different brands but none had a nice taste.

However I have tea bags for guests and they seem ok strengthwise, I just don't rush the brewing stage.

I thought it was just me and I was doing something wrong but no you definitely donโ€™t get as strong a cuppa as you used too. Thankfully Iโ€™m not a lover of very strong โ€œbuildersโ€ tea cos Iโ€™d truly struggle to make cuppa like that with 1 teabag now

After reading this I started asking around family and friends who also use a variety of teabags from Tesco basics to much more expensive brands and everyone was actually agreeing with this and found that definitely canโ€™t make as strong a cuppa as usual anymore so it seems doesnโ€™t matter what brand you use. I was actually genuinely surprised at person who uses the Tesco basic teabags cos Iโ€™ve always enjoyed cuppa in theirs as itโ€™s always a lovely cuppa tea and was shocked when they said they use Tesco basic. Maybe have to buy a box for myself now

I do find that my tea does change from box to box but it will always depend on the tea used in the blending. I have found with PG Tips the bags aren't as good as they used to be. They seem to split very easily.

I haven't had a decent cup of tea for years now. Leaving the tea bag in for longer just made it taste bitter. I was at my sister's at the weekend and she made me a lovely cup of tea which turned out to be Twinings strong english breakfast tea. It is expensive at over ยฃ5 per 80 bags but yesterday I got 2 boxes in Sainsburys on offer at ยฃ3 per box......result. I only have one or two a day so will last me months. They have them on Amazon at the moment 4 boxes of 80 for ยฃ11 so well worth it. Can't stop drinking tea now instead of my usual coffee!๐Ÿซ–

I only use tea bags to make a tea loaf, but I need to brew it for much longer these days before putting in the fruit to steep. I thought it was my memory or imagination that was playing tricks I am so glad it's not just me

Another vote for Aldi tea, in the gold box. Much better than any of the teabags I've tried (I like it really strong). PG has got incredibly weak and not worth buying any more. I tried tesco basics and didn't like the taste. But we are all different, and have different tastes. Good luck in your search for your new teabags x
