Has Anyone Used Ginger for Pain Relief
Ask a Question
Hi I was wondering if anyone has used ginger for pain relief my friend was saying she heard about about a woman using it, you grate it and put it on a cloth then place it on your pain tye something around it to hold it on preferably over night she said her husband has been doing it for his arthritis and feels a lot better ,I want to try it on my joints as I have arthritis and tendinitis on my arm was hoping this might help as my arm gets painful
I am sure it couldn't do any harm although I am not a doctor. But these things have healing properties which modern man has put aside, even though many drugs contain many of these ingredients. I expect the heat of the ginger would help with inflammatory things like arthritis. Alternatively essential oils can be mixed and applied and there are some good books around giving its uses.
Ginger has anti-inflammatory agents so it might be worth eating it rather than as a compress.
Iam going to try it and see will go to supermarket today its worth a go oh i will look into the oils I have loads in the house I use for scent I love the smell of them everyone is talking about a woman on tiktok who tells you about all different natural ingredients to use thats who said about the ginger thanks so much for your comment
Not sure on pain relief but my partner buys a root, chops bits up and makes ginger tea with it, smells lovely.
HEDGEHOGS aw does he sounds lovely never thought of that I love the smell of it definitely going to try it will I just grate some in hotwater and leave it or use it same way as a tea bag and let it sit a minute then take it out thank you so much for this and I love all different teas
I'm not quite sure about arthritis, but MrsChimp steeps root ginger in boiling water and drinks it when she's got a sore throat. Seems to work, so there must be something in it.
I have never heard of this but I do have psoriatic arthritis so may give it a go, probably read up on it first. I know ginger helps when you are feeling sick.
