Best Thing about Winter?
Other
With the nights getting darker and weather changing, what's your favourite thing about the winter.
Mine is the cosy evening spent with family snuggled at home.
I love having a lie in on the weekends particularly when it's cold and frosty outside. I also like the build up to Christmas.
Nothing good about winter, kids can't play out, kids bringing colds from school and passing it onto me lol I hate winter
martinlufc5637 I agree with kids spreading germs, I'm constantly catching something because of my low immune system, kids seem to be OK pretty quickly too lol do you like the build up to Christmas? Xx
lealea3000 yeah I've had 2 colds in a month, takes weeks to recover and kids a few days lol
Same, fire on, and a good film. Also I like the crisp mornings and the scenery of the frost
Wrapping up warmly and going for a long walks along the beach. After the walk getting in the car and heating up the car seats. Also like having hot chocolate drinks.
I’m definitely more of a summer outdoors person but there is something to a winter’s sunday afternoon at home with the fire on.
jms19 I'm more of an end of summer early autumn person, my have my favourite bit about each season xx
This might be quite unpopular but I love the cold, can't stand the heat, always prefer the cold weather
kitty88uk you open the windows in the evening to let the heat out, it's hard at first but you also have to keep curtains pulled during the day and open them up for an hour or so in the evening. Xx
lealea3000 is that so, I forgot about this until you relied back lol so late reply back from you
Wrapping up for a nice walk on a crisp day and coming home and making lovely hots chocolates.
Best thing about winter is when it's over and spring arrives. Not a fan of winter to be honest. It's cold and wet
Yes I don’t like the cold and dark. The best thing is knowing it will end and looking forward to spring. Try to just get through it keeping as cosy and warm as possible.
I love to get warm and cosy, with electric blanket and throw. I”ll be back from holiday soon enough so am used to the heat and so my comforts will definitely be needed .
Drinking Baileys Hot Chocolate by a roaring fire snuggled up with the people you love...Can't beat it...
janphoenix51 I have actually never tried it but was thinking about trying it yesterday. I think I'll definitely have to try this xx
I do enjoy a winter walk, the air is crisp and fresh and the views can be beautiful plus it helps stop you sweating as much on a long walk. If you take a flask of coffee with you, you really appreciate the stops when you have a cup of coffee and enjoy the views. I'm not keen on rain on a very cold day though but clear skies and cold is fine.
BonzoBanana ....I LOVE a autumn walk, crisp leaves crunching beneath your feet, all the GORGEOUS colours...
I always carry my flask of Coffee with me, spring, summer, autumn & winter, I have taken it to my partner's brother 's Wedding on 15.12.22 also the person I used care for after 's funeral!
Making and eating homemade soup.... I make it thick and chunky....
And hibinating with my books too.....xx
Nothing really expensive bills to keep warm.
Can't live without heating in my home.
But I like eating nuts in the winter since they are a warm food and especially fish and chips and samosas
Going on holiday to get away from the cold. It’s not a season i enjoy. I prefer the sun and the heat
Just that christmas spirit for me, family time, party time, winter food and everything around christmas like the markets etc
Lolly1967...Welcome back fellow Sheffielder, not seen you on here for ages, hope you are well..
I LOVE a nice Homemade Chunky Winter Vegetable Soup with some Crusty Buttered Bread....
MelissaLee1 I have never tried that but I do add it when I make leek gratin which I had yesterday. Don’t think I could take it just with water though.
Oodies are great,as are stews and rice pudding .I quite like listening to Boom Light while I'm on the PC and getting all nostalgic.
