Beware of the Orange Dot! Hidden App Recording on iPhones

Other

Did you know if you have an i phone and see an orange dot appear at the top of the screen it could be a security issue

It means your microphone is being used by someone listening in or more innocently some app

Apps such as whatsapp require the use of the microphone for voice messages etc

But to make sure nobody has hacked your phone you can close all apps , go to your control center and it will show any app using the microphone

Or it could be a phone problem and a reset is advised in that case

In this age of paranoia , which is justified when you see adverts popping up on your laptop about subjects you have just spoken about , you are right to question everything

I don’t think anyone would find my chats with my family worth spying on.

Recently one of my credit cards was compromised, I'd had it a long time and someone tried to charge me at two different retailers, one was ebay. They were caught by the credit card company and I was issued a new card. I'd never had that before but recently my Facebook account was stolen from me. I never put any credit card details in facebook as not secure but it had my personal details and perhaps they worked it out that way. It had an older password I think which is how they got into Facebook. I don't see why I can't state for my account I will never be in China and if I am then I will call them to say I'm going there. I'm quite happy to have my account as UK only. It just annoyed me that Facebook said this person had logged in, in China and yet still didn't block it and they took over my account, it should have just flagged a password change etc. I suspect my credit card number was compromised sometime ago by one of the hacks on a retailer etc and they just had to work out the other bits to use it which perhaps Facebook helped with. Probably loads of our credit card numbers are on the darkweb its just it is incomplete information.
