Big Garden Bird Watch - Did You Get Involved?

Did you take part in the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch his year? Great to get the public involved and interested, while getting great research and insights.

I live in the country and my Dad has always admired nature, encouraging birds, feeding, them, etc. He taught me, and now I am doing the same with my 2 & 3 year old boys. It is also lovely for them to share this with my dad / their Granda too.
We spotted 9 different birds in our garden yesterday. Beautiful!
I didn’t do it officially but did look out a few times and only saw pigeons! I think it’s sad how little people on quiz shows seem to know about birds. Often they can’t even identify a blackbird!
Grannyclock I agree! Nice for them to learn while appreciate nature from a young age.
Our local playgroup is great at encouraging it too. This week they made bird feeders, using empty toilet roll tubes coated in peanut butter, then rolled in seeds.
So simple, but the kids love it and feel so involved!
Grannyclock it's a good use for the supermarket value brand smooth peanut butter! And the birds LOVE it!!
Me too ,our pair of wood pigeons who like to sit in the big tree in the front garden
I didn't do it unfortunately I don't think I would have completed the list but I love birds and I always whip out my phone to get a click of any one I see.

FG280 to be fair they were really tame and maybe so hungry so they allowed me to be near them

Sarahvwomble you can still enter the details, even just for two wood pigeons. Helps them get a bigger and more accurate picture of our birds!
