Over the years I have noticed Amazon deals are cheaper through the year than black Friday, we always buy ours on prime day, it was excellent for us this year
martinlufc5637 Interesting! I'll definitely be checking price history graphs on Amazon before buying anything. Thanks for the comment
lydiafitzsimons my son and daughter wanted beats headphones this year for Christmas, prime day they where reduced to £139 from £349 cheapest I've ever seen them, be interesting to see what price they are in black Friday deal, I'll be fuming if they are even cheaper lol £139 worked for us, £349 not a chance
I used to go for shopping on Black Friday especially Asda and Tesco Etc but recent few years I stopped have so many electrical kitchen items slowly sending then back home for relatives now my generator iron playing off I lost receipt too few friends of mine told me try at Amazon so Ill check that nothing else thanks for this topic
M1321 Electronics are always a good one to look out for over the Black Friday period! Thanks for your comment
Always check around to see if the price is a genuine offer. Just like Latestdeals itself most offers are fake deals and can be found cheaper. If it is a lot cheaper and you want it then buy it as quickly as possible. The genuine reductions often go out of stock quickly. A lot of tech on Amazon mainly sold by marketplace sellers has fake descriptions with misleading information to make you think the product is better than it is so be careful about the descriptions. A so called 8GB tablet is only 2GB with 6GB of virtual memory. That is still a 2GB tablet and was never a 8GB tablet but Amazon sellers seem to think it is fair to sell it as 8GB. If I have a 4GB laptop and set the virtual memory to 8GB it doesn't mean its a 12GB laptop. I suspect we will see big reductions on Amazon for terrible tablets and action cameras which don't have the specification they claim. If you do buy such a product and realise its a fake spec when you get it make sure you send it back saying the specification is fake as the reason.
I guess the other thing to do on Black Friday is get up early. I've looked at Black Friday deals at 10am only to see an offer I would have really liked was listed at something like 9am and sold out at 9.15am.
BonzoBanana Getting in there early is definitely a good tip, thanks for sharing your advice
Find the cheapest deal possible . Honestly though if I see something I will still always check other sites to make sure it’s not cheaper elsewhere
xKJG93 Definitely a good plan, always need to compare prices even when it's Black Friday! Thanks for sharing
lydiafitzsimons 100%, I don’t always go out my way to look but if I feel it may be cheaper elsewhere then I’ll explore
Only buy what I need and when the price is the lowest, unless I really need something and I willing to spend over the odds.
SebK84 It's easy to get carried away with all the deals so good thing to keep in mind - thank you!
I remember martin Lewis saying is it’s only a good deal if you need it. So if you have things you need to buy look at the price before and the offer price. Could get sucked into buying because of the price drop. If anyone can recommend the sites to check previous price that could help as I can’t remember them .
LL81 Good point! If you weren't going to buy it anyway, it's a waste of money - thank you for sharing
If you know exactly what you want to buy it can't hurt to check the prices elsewhere using something like pricespy so you know if you're getting the best price or not.
I don't recall ever doing anything for black Friday (shopping wise), the only time I would consider waiting for it is if I needed something near to when it is and see what deal if any are on. I find a lot of sales rubbish and only saving against a high RRP and still not necessarily a good buy.
ch7leach Some deals definitely aren't as good as they appear, it's always worth comparing and checking price histories. Thanks for your comment
Add product/s you are interested in to your basket and then save it for later. This way you will be notified when you open your basket next time when price drop or increase.
SebK84 Nice tactic! Definitely an good way to make sure you're only buying things you need and not getting carried away scrolling through pages of deals - thank you for your tip
I normally look up things on Amazon that I’m interested in. Then when Black Friday hits, they come up at the reduced price in things you may like section
