What Do You Do with Your Books?

Ask a Question

📚 What do you do with your books when you are done reading them?

I give some to my MIL and any she doesn't want goes to the charity shop.

I usually keep them as I read books more than once. However if I don't feel I want to re-read I will pass to friends. I am doing a history quiz for age concern next month so have sorted a few historical ones to give to the winners.

PS most of my books are on kindle.

SamGoodship I must admit I love books and love keeping them on a large bookcase in my office (which is my tiny smallest bedroom), but I also love my kindle. I find it very uncomfortable reading a book (especially a fat one) in bed but with a kindle you can just lay in one position and use just your thumb to turn the page, plus it always opens to where you left off lol.

I pass my books on to friends and family or I take them to a charity shop if no one else wants to read them

It depends on the book. I keep information books but if it’s a novel then once I have read it I will pass it on to someone else.

After reading mine (new and secondhand), I take them to Tesco and leave them on the BHF table for people to give to the charity.

I don't read as much as I used to but books usually get passed around friends or onto charity shops.

I can't remember the last time I read a book, haven't had the time since I had my son.

Our sons books are either given to a friend for their child or given away for free to others or very occasionally sold on to pay for new books.

I keep paper and hardback books I use for research. Others I donate directly to a library being built in Sierra Leone.

If it’s something I’ve enjoyed i’ll keep hold of it but otherwise to the charity shop (i buy most of my books from charity shops as well). If i think someone i know might enjoy a book I’m reading, i just pass it onto them when I’m done with it.

I'm on the end of the line of books as in I get all the ones my mother or aunt has read that they think I'll like and well I'm a bit of a hoarder so they normally end up in my cupboard or draws once I've read them :3
