Where Can I Find the Cheapest Bovril?

Ask a Question

Omg, the price of bovril now!!!!,

We love bovril in our house, but the price has always made me wince abit, but a jar lasts a fair while so it's not too bad, went to re stock at Asda yesterday and they have stopped doing the smaller jars, and a big one is now........£4.40, yes £4.40 for one jar, granted it's the big jar but still £4.40, it was £3.20- £3.50 ish the last time I got a big jar, needless to say i did not buy any, I was on a £20 voucher budget, lol

Anyways, rant over🤣

If anyone sees if cheaper anywhere? please let me know, I'm in my last scrapping🥺🤣

Not something I buy but it looks like Aldi do an alternative and it is vegetarian. (possibly Vegan too)

DeBunny we did try that one before and it's just not the same, love most Aldi alternatives actually prefer some of them to the branded ones but not this one I'm afraid, thanks anyway though xxxx

slightfoot No worries! Aldi's alternatives are always worth a try but sounds like this one is cheaper for a reason 😆 xx

I have only ever known Bovril as a drink or stock for stews etc, however I have been thinking this about marmite for some time, to the extent that I no longer buy it. Considering it is a by product of the beer making industry I can't for the life of me understand why it is so expensive, can only be profiteering.

Lynibis yes I agree with you, I know these companies have to make money but when is enough profit enough profit? I suppose if people keep paying it then they will keep getting away with it

I think they are expensive wherever you go. I used to like Bovril Crisps. And OXO Crisps. Good old days. Smiths made the Bovril Crisps and Chipmunk made the OXO ones. After Chipmunk went, Golden Wonder did their own.

always worth checking sites like approved food, discount dragon or motatos - I’ve seen Bovril on all these at some point
