What Bread Do You Buy?
Ask a Question
Bread buying!
Do you go for the Supermarket's own or is there a brand you prefer?
I always go for a cheap supermarket brand and switch between white and brown bread.
Depends what I want it for.
I don't often eat bread.
First I'd check the OLIO app for free bread nearby, as they usually have so much surplus or I check the reduced section, as bread usually freezes well.
The Warburton Toastie bread is the best for toasting though, it stays beautifully spongey inside but toasted on the outside. I do often opt for the shops own brand version though, as it is often half the price.
DeBunny olio was so active at my old house but it’s pretty dead in my new area which is a shame. used to be loads of bread on there
SamGoodship Yes it is a shame, they've had to bring in the sale option to get more people on the app and now sadly adverts, which is driving people away but they need to as they are a business and weren't making much, if anything. This year is apparently make or break for them It's a shame because it is such a good idea.
We buy the 50/50 bread as my daughter gets constipated with white and my son doesn't like brown bread. It's always expensive, I wish supermarkets made their own version.
I like warbatons medium blue for white then anything soft and full of seeds if it’s granary
The brown unseeded gluten free bread from Morrisons is very good. I think it is the best supermarket own bread. I avoid Genius products they aren't that great. The blueberry muffins are not so good compared to the ones that Marks and Spencer does.
RichardDoolin Hey, thank you for your helpful comment. We've emailed you a £1 Costa coupon to say thanks! It has gone to the email address on your Latest Deals account.
sophiereddy Wow, thanks. Is the coupon for in person coffee shop visit or supermarket costa products?
I go for what's on olio, or what's cheapest. I like Morrison, waitrose or Warburton. I don't have any supermarkets like lidl
I buy Allinsons champion whole meal bread but it’s expensive so sometimes buy Hovis whole meal also
Tesco's own brand of whole meal bread 55p x 6 rolls with five days to go. I stopped buying Asda reduced bread, made 3-4 days before it is reduced. I don't eat seeded bread.
Used to buy warburtons medium white or wholemeal and their toastie. But changed to M&S medium white, tastes nice, lasts and is cheaper. Also, buy bakers tiger bread now and again. (Can't eat wholemeal bread anymore).
Roberts Bread from Home Bargains. Mega thick. Cheaper than any other supermarket. I pay £1.09. Made In Cheshire. Lovely bread and makes lovely toast too.
Standard sliced white for everyday use, but I do love a crusty bap for soup, or with cheese spread and salt and vinegar crisps, sounds abit odd but it is honestly a proper lush snack, has to be salt and vinegar, other flavours don't work, ***
Warburtons is the best get a loaf but then I like sandwich thins. Try to get reduced bread has prices are silly now. I just put it in the freezer and it keeps until I need it.
I buy the white value supermarket bread, either from Aldi or Lidl. I then freeze it and defrost when needed. That way it lasts us longer as we don't use it everyday. I will buy bread when reduced too but only if it is cheaper than the one I normally buy.
We normally buy waitrose essential as find this really good, but love Warburtons which I brought this week. Not keen on Tesco own bread
I always go for cheaper bread either because its reduced or its the shop's more basic loaf. I love tiger bread and that is the one I look out for hoping for a reduction.
I like the Warburton tiger bread in the orange wrapper but if carnt get that then it's the 5050 bread about 42 years ago my mum made me a dress outta sunbless wrappers and I was sponsored by them but you don't see much sunbless bread now
I usually buy a wholemeal uncut loaf from an independent bakery. It's funny how your tastes change as you get older, you often become more aware about the impact your diet has on your body and roughage becomes more important to you. Having said that, if I am having a bacon sandwich then it has to be white bread. How contrary!
I got a loaf of dark rye bread from Tesco finest range a couple months ago & prefered it so stick to that now plus its a healthier option.
I tend to get Morrisons super thick own brand. It’s fantastic for toast pretty good for sandwiches as well.
Tesco is a bit of a journey for me so Sainsburys is my supermarket of choice. But recently when visiting my sister she had a gorgeous speciality bread from tescos and I am longing to get some, it was cranberry and cashew.
Tesco finest multi seeded brown but be minded if doing drug tests it brings up False positives lol.
Depends if I'm skint! I make sure I have a bread mix in the cupboard though. If I buy cheap bread, it usually goes to waste. I like Iceland's Bloomer bread. They sometimes have offers on it if you buy two, which you can freeze.
