I heard this yesterday.

Poundland are trying to get into online sales by the looks of it.

Can't see it doing much harm tbh.

We don't have a Poundland nearby, so the option to shop online would be good.

I wonder what the delivery charge would be though 🤔

I think it's great news, hopefully it will mean more choices for customers and keep another store on the highstreet.

With the cost of living soaring, soon we wont have anything to buy for a pound. Will be www.tenpoundshop.com/ 😂

I believe they acquired the 99p shop previously and their plans are to swallow up that market. I’ve no problems if they keep prices low

I feel a bit dubious about it though to be honest, I remember something about Poundland buying the 99p stores and then them falling into administration and then Poundland closed loads of stores at some time amid this coronavirus virus, Poundshop is doing ok, I'd hate for them to be brought down! It would be good to get the choice of 2 stores to buy from though!

Did they buy it for a pound or 99p?

Poundland bought Fulton foods and closed them on the high street and Starbargains online. Reduced competition is never a good thing for customers In the long run.

Initially I thought that any reduction in competition would inevitability lead to price increases, but then realized one was an online shop, as I don't drive I welcome this.

As it is an online retailer that they have acquired I don't see the problem. It just means that they will now sell more stuff online. I don't go to our local pound shop often as I don't go into the town centre unless I need something, but I do like the Pep&co clothing range for my son, not sure if it is the same retailer as this one though.

Poundland shouldn't be called that most of the stuff is over a pound now

Ah but quite a lot is also under a £1, I've shared loads and I have also posted Daewoo speakers for £6.99 and Cuddle Cushions for about £4 when they sell for £15, you can't expect to get things like that for £1, but surely you appreciate the savings to be made there or do you think that's not right?

JoTarpley I don't think they should be sold in there shops to be honest it's supposed to be a Poundland not things for £6.99 lol

I would be more impressed if you could buy things for a £1 in those shops. A lot seems more expensive these days

I didn't know this until now. I did not know Poundshop and Poundland were rivals. Both shops sell inferior goods compare to Asda and Wilko selling the same brand as them.

Poundland often put some items available cheaper like 80-90p at a £1 and some items that perhaps are £1.10-1.20 to a £ so as ever do your research and you can save money. Some of the Poundland stuff is reduced size to get to a £1 and they can be poor value. I still find a lot of great value items in Poundland but you can definitely get a lot of stuff cheaper in supermarkets or Home Bargains etc.
