Hmmm i was not aware of this rule about sunday working for builders, if it is a rule and you have the proof on a website etc then show them. If they say they don’t care then i think maybe i would contact the local

Council

Leannexxx And here's a link about it: hertstools.co.uk/what-time-can-building-work-start-in-a-residential-area/

"Told me to prove it"

They're builders and they don't know it?

PhilipMarc of course they know what the regulations are (i don’t personally) but that’s some builders isn’t it. They think they will just cause a nuisance and people won’t be bothered to do anything about it.

jms19 Sure, but rules are there to be obeyed to. If everyone decides to go their own way it becomes chaotic.

PhilipMarc yes I completely agree, they should follow the rules but they know they are breaking them and just choosing not to care.

So so out of order, people like that have no respect. They would be first to complain if it were next door to them. I don't think police can do anything but I would phone and just say you need advice and how they can be held to the times.

Definitely not allowed to work Sunday, being day of rest . I would most certainly complain.! Lack of respect for others.

I'd be in jail if this nonsense happened to me. Or their machinery and materials would disappear overnight as if by magic.

I would have advised contacting your local council but councils now are a waste of time and not fit for purpose

Is what they’re doing require planning permission? If so the planning permission notice might stipulate especially where it is a residential built up area that they can only work between certain times and on what days. I look over a lot of planning applications for work and I’m seeing it more and more now. I can only think in the past folks didn’t have this we can do what we ducking like attitude quite so much

They may not be a proper company as in cowboys or doing what their boss has told them and to just get on and do the job. Had it years ago. An old landlord basically had builders from 8am til 1am. It was horrendous especially as I was working 2 jobs and some days doing 12 hours. I spoke with them and they went back to the landlord and got him to agree to stopping at 11pm
