Car Parked Legally , When He Returned Yellow Lines Painted under It , Then Fined

I think this but be the worst and cheekiest parking fine i have ever seen issued
Imagine you park your car where you do every day in a legal spot, then return to it after work to find someone has painted yellow lines under it and a parking ticket is slapped on your windscreen
He tried to appeal but the council would not listen, so he had to approach a local business to let him look at their cctv
He saw that a tow truck had lifted his vehicle, painted yellow lines under it , then replaced his car the wrong way around !!!
Later a parking warden came and slapped a ticket on his car to top it all off
I don't know about you but i would be suing the council for this and any damage i found to my car
Surely as he has evidence to take to the Council they will cancel the fine and apologise. That would be my first course of action not go to the press.
It's funny isn't it, if you saw this happen in a film you wouldn't believe it.
Sadly councils around the country are using this type of tactic to enforce unreasonable and unnecessary fines - probably to raise extra money! What happened to putting up advance warning notices and cones? I'd want to know who the 'brains' behind this was and have them chastised.

Clearly this is a complete joke but I definitely wouldn’t be suing as that just takes money from the local area.
jms19 But they happily fine you for illegally parking J, despite you having done nothing wrong , and you have to fight them to get the fine removed
If he didn't take the trouble to try to find CCTV the council would have continued lying to him and insisting the yellow lines were already there when he parked
Its not all about compensation , it is letting them know they cannot get away with this type of thing and stopping it happening to others
That's really cheeky and unfair. The cash strapped council are always looking for ways to rob citizens.
Nadiaparveen Its happening everywhere N, not just with councils ,but the motorist is a prime target for anyone wanting a steady revenue of income from fines
If they could find a way to fine you for walking incorrectly i am sure they would, besides jay walking that is
Nadiaparveen I agree with you. The motorist is always first choice and then the rent keeps on going up until the shops closes down.
What a joke. I'm not surprised the motorists is furious. I'd be telling the story to every media outlet possible just to make a point of how awful the council are.
Councils do this all the time . There was a guy where I lived and he parked his car on the side of the road outside his home . He went out 1 day without his car and when he came home the car was in the same place but yellow lines and a ticket for his trouble . He had the council insisting he had to pay for it but they didn't allow for his camera on the front of the house and he caught them picking up his car and safe to say he got an apology and the fine rescinded .
