Did you know there are days of the year where everyone with red hair gets together to celebrate the fact ?
I did not , but more countries are doing this now
There is Redhead Days Festival in the netherlands that starts tomorrow August 23-25 2024
You have World Red Head Day – May 26
Redhead Appreciation Day on September 23
Even Kiss A Ginger Day on january 12th

Just an additional fact, there are more people in Ireland with red hair than anywhere else in the world , more than 10% of the population

My great grandson is a right ole ginger nut, it suits him so well. I don't think at 10 months he has realised yet so maybe he can celebrate when he is older.
Nope it's Ireland, saw sooo many beautiful red headed people when we were over visiting my partner 's family 9th-19th August..
My Southern Irish Dad was a red head, my two brothers had Blond curly hair when they were very young & I was born with a mop of jet black hair..

My brother in law has Italian genes, he & my sister had a son 36 in Dec who was a red head, his dad was nicknamed RED at the Sheffield bakery where he worked at the time & his son was nicknamed BABY RED when he was young!!
Nearly 30 years ago same sister & brother in law had a set of twin boys, one had straight blond hair & the other had short wavy red hair!
If you see the little red headed tot playing with the Turtle Sand Pit in the Very / Like Tikes Adverts that is my great nephew T. who's daddy is a red head, T's mummy is dark haired Irish looking, I remember sending her details of Red Head Day last year when you could ho to the Cinema FREE if you were a Red Head!

My friend used to refer to red headed people as CONE HEADS!
Growing up as a young girl in Sheffield, I've heard red heads referred to as like a DURACELL Battery....With the copper coloured top!!
