Leannexxx ...Takes me back to when my friend & I were at Tesco in the well heeled part of Sheffield..

The punnets of Strawberries were knocked down to 50p a punnet & these two GREEDY women had a TROLLEY FULL of punnets ,my friend grabbed one of the punnets left telling me to get one for myself before those women took them all..

The GREEDY women just looked so smug..

It's the same in my local store. People with their trollies stacked full, queues of people stressing their not going to get any. It takes me back to COVID and toilet roll gate 🤣🤣. It's tubs of sweets ffs, get a life 😑

Sammycb worse than COVID lol smaller tubs too, definitely not normal size tubs you'd usually buy, last year's tubs 600 this year's 550 , top tub is this year's, bottom last year's

martinlufc5637 That's actually shocking. My dad was just saying last week how the tubs of Celebrations looked smaller. He'd obviously been eyeing them up as their his favourite 😍

Sammycb we save the tubs because my wife's bakes cakes and they are perfect size to put them in, there is no way she'll get a cake in these smaller tubs

Our of curiosity I checked this tub which is in my cupboard and holds a lot of my cake making stuff. I expect next year will be even smaller. (Not sure how long I have had this).

Lynibis we have one from last year and it's the same as this 650g, this year's 550g, this year's doesn't have the wrapper weight, so it's less than 550

Absolute madness in my local store, people buying these sweets not getting voucher App to work , clogging up the tills. Limited number of stressed staff trying to sort things. What an ill thought out idea by Asda

Mango4 i just checked and my app is down so that’s probably the reason for such delays. You’d think they would anticipate this and make sure they were doing app maintenance on the same day 😒

jms19 you can go down and they'll do them for 2 for £5, that's what they was doing earlier

martinlufc5637 Hmm in the Asda I went they were saying there was nothing they could do so a lot of people were just leaving the chocolate boxes all across the store. Luckily for me the app came back on line before i left so i managed to nab a couple of boxes.

martinlufc5637 I didn't even bother in the end. I've decided just to buy larger bars of chocolate and look out for deals on the bigger size share bags. My family will appreciate that much better 😌

A lot of them take them to sell on for profit or in there shops. I've seen it so many times

xKJG93 I do not buy from the local corner shop. I don't understand why people would buy their chocolate from a corner shop regardless of if it is only £1 cheaper.

Pjran it still takes forever with the screenshot. As I do that for my dad as he struggles using the app. The staff told him to carry on scanning until it works 😂

Why are people so greedy, if it was printed in huge print for customers to see they would still choose to ignore it. I’d get a couple and that’s it but probably none left now.

Surprisingly my Asda was quite calm. My. Dad went and he said the code wasn't scanning and that was literally the only problem.

I don't tend to buy the tubs of chocolate but I am shocked that it has caused so much chaos. I'm rarely in my local Asda but usually not enough staff anyway so ours was probably mad too. 24 tubs is just ridiculous.

The tubs are £6 each or two for £9 and there is an additional £4 off I think on the app that can be used once to make it £5 for two. I assume you can buy the offer multiple times at £9 but can only apply the £4 off once on the app. It doesn't seem complicated to me but so many people are completely unreasonable.

You can maybe understand this sort of behaviour if you are trying to save a fair old chunk on a TV or similar on Black Friday, but do people really forget how to act properly for the sake of a couple of quid on some chocolates!

Yeah the way its going you will need to use an atomic microscope to find these chocolates in the future. Shrinkflation is getting ridiculous. I could have gone to Asda today to get the offer but the app isn't working and won't be going over the weekend. It would be nice if they extended the offer to Monday as well consider the app wasn't working but I doubt they will do that.

Swizzle Tubs were HALF PRICE at £2.50 in Iceland, I was shopping there on Thursday afternoon after walking from work.. There was a lady who bought 6 tubs after asking the till operator if the offer was limited to 2 tubs, it wasn't...

I went to Asda yesterday and their app was down, but the cashiers had printed coupon codes so you could still get the offer, but single use per app of course.

The tubs of chocolates aren't as tasty as they used to be. They were much better when they were in tins. And larger too.

It’s crazy the way people can be. No issue in ours they didn’t even have them yesterday afternoon, when I popped in especially thinking that on a Saturday I stood a chance. I was expecting big pallet loads like they usually have - no doubt they will appear on Monday!!!

I did see in another supermarket that the celebrations tubs had shrunk again so it might not have been a huge loss after all.

I always have memories of being a kid (80s) and my Gran buying Roses and Quality Street tins or the jars and they seemed massive compared to, today’s

I managed to get to Asda today. First time I used their app, fortunately a lovely member of staff at checkout helped. She scanned my membership then the screenshots for the 2 tubs of chocolates plus my free £5 voucher.
