Choosing Phones
Ask a Question
Me and my daughter are looking at phones. Wondering if its worth getting an international one with years Amazon warranty which is significantly cheaper than English which has 2 years manufacturers warranty
Sorry I don’t know what an internal phone is? I have a secondhand apple phone which is ideal for me.
Pjran thanks anyway. We definitely after Android but not really sure of anything else
Imnotcheap what sort of phone you want? Big screen ,memory, good camera but I've got a Motorola g13 it's android 13 128gb camera is good too
Leannexxx I currently have a 5 year old Samsung a8 but it glitching and memory is inadequate, don't need big screen just pocket size, need decent memory and good camera love taking pictures of my kids.

I use Samsung had a13 sadly screen broke after the many drops, when I say many I mean it the phones are actually strong, now I have an a14 and it works a dream would always go Samsung personally as haven't had problems with them and they do more affordable phones as well as the top wack rich peoples stuff
soul101 it's the A14 we are looking at mainly as it's a newer version of the phones we have my one is still working after 5 years

Imnotcheap I've still got my old phone if needs be but the battery isn't great anymore
Imnotcheap I also had a hairline crack and other cracks on it.the hairline crack was putting my jumper on in the school hall after supporting people.it fell out my pocket onto the floor.
Jerseydrew I just have 1 big crack fell out in asda but screen protector stopped It getting worse
Sometimes the international versions of phones can be inferior or superior depending on how they compare to the UK version. I've seen versions of the same phone that have do or don't have 5G and also they may have more or less base memory. I'd personally look at the details of the phone to decide.
I recently got my mother a Redmi Note 12C which was about £60 after using Amazon's 20% off phones offer and a £10 voucher for using their app. She seems to be pleased with it. It's a basic phone but bang up to date software and should get updates for quite a few years as its a 2023 model. Despite the price has a 50 Megapixel image sensor on it so better than many more expensive phones. Seems very fast to use but the case isn't premium.
Xiaomi seem to offer the best phones for spec vs price especially if you like good cameras on your phone.
No, just buy one that's from the U.K. market as it'll be guaranteed unlocked and make sure it's from a trusted brand.
Buy a phone with security updates for at least 4-5+ years if you use banking apps.
