Choosing Phones

Ask a Question

Me and my daughter are looking at phones. Wondering if its worth getting an international one with years Amazon warranty which is significantly cheaper than English which has 2 years manufacturers warranty

Sorry I don’t know what an internal phone is? I have a secondhand apple phone which is ideal for me.

Sometimes the international versions of phones can be inferior or superior depending on how they compare to the UK version. I've seen versions of the same phone that have do or don't have 5G and also they may have more or less base memory. I'd personally look at the details of the phone to decide.

I recently got my mother a Redmi Note 12C which was about £60 after using Amazon's 20% off phones offer and a £10 voucher for using their app. She seems to be pleased with it. It's a basic phone but bang up to date software and should get updates for quite a few years as its a 2023 model. Despite the price has a 50 Megapixel image sensor on it so better than many more expensive phones. Seems very fast to use but the case isn't premium.

Xiaomi seem to offer the best phones for spec vs price especially if you like good cameras on your phone.

No, just buy one that's from the U.K. market as it'll be guaranteed unlocked and make sure it's from a trusted brand.

Buy a phone with security updates for at least 4-5+ years if you use banking apps.
