Do You Visit Christmas Markets?

I've visited Christmas Markets In 10 different countries, I love them.

I'm hoping to do Vienna and Bratislava this year.

I've found the further East you go they less expensive/commercialized/crowded they are.

Christmas markets are a lovely festive atmosphere but very expensive with handmade crafts.

I went to one in Winchester once and would love to go to Vienna but they are rather costly.

Always go to the one in Birmingham as not too far from me but the prices have become ridiculous. £8 for a bratwurst is too much so usually tend to just browse and then head off somewhere else to eat.

I go to our towns small Christmas Market, nothing too big but lots of fun and nice to see community

I've been to a Christmas Market in Prague and in Edinburgh. Never ever bought anything from them though as they are very expensive

I don’t think I would go to buy then if they are expensive but probably nice to browse around for experience.

I have in the past visited a number of Christmas Markets in Germany. As other have said, they are not cheap to buy things, but the warm of the welcome and thr wonderful experience which goes with it.

I have seen some in this country but they don't give the same experience.

Went to Birmingham : predominantly a series of German-themed drinking outlets. Fine for a lager-crawl but no-more?

A day out to York with our son & his gf in December has become a bit of a tradition, we tend to browse the market whilst there. It does get incredibly busy tho.

I have lost track of all these Christmas related topics, and it's still only September.

I live Christmas markets they are so atmospheric. The best one is the dickensien market I Ulverston

Iv never been but would like to go this year and make the most of it

I've been to a few Christmas markets and love the smell of them but had a free sample of mulled wine and it was vile. I've never bought anything from them but they create a nice atmosphere. I've been to a lot of local produce markets too and again prices are sky high compared to super markets so don't buy. The markets I like are the cheap dinghy ones where they have cheap food and drink and lots of secondhand goods and speciality shops. Really interesting plus car boots too. I don't have any interest really in Christmas markets except the ambience of them.

They’re all the same and all sell a load of tat.

I'm looking forward to going to a Christmas Market somewhere where there is the Christmas atmosphere & it's not a rip off..

Winchester Christmas Market is the best one I’ve been to. They usually have an ice rink and if you check the cathedral website you might be able to join in with a Christmas Carol Service.

We always visit the christmas markets in Glasgow and Edinburgh yearly as there close to us. We also visited Belfast a couple of years back and it was amazing. Would highly recommend them all

Just booked a trip to Vienna & Bratislava in early December to visit the Christmas Markets.

We have massive German marketplace here every year during Xmas time. I admit I only pass through or take pics lol.

Be interesting to see how they combat the cost of inflation cause the prices were already very high so surely they can’t put them up much more. I’m guessing much smaller portion sizes

Yes I love a good nosey around them the atmosphere gets me feeling all festive too. Unfortunately the Lincoln Christmas Market has been cancelled which is my local one so going to Newarks Christmas Market this year

I have planned to visit Christmas Market in Venice this year. Hopefully we won't be disappointed.
