Which Closed down Shop Would You Bring Back?
Ask a Question
Hi everyone
If you could bring back any shop that went bust, which one would you choose?
I'd bring back Woolworths just for the nostalgia. I loved going there as a kid to run off and look at the toys and beg for pick and mix.
Without a doubt it would have to be Woolworths, it was one of them shops that sold everything and if you just went in for a browse you always come out with something. When I was a teenager (many years ago) the Woolworths that I went to also had a cafe upstairs where we'd all meet up.
People have mentioned C & A. Funnily enough, every year my family holiday in Germany and they have loads of C&A stores.
Another vote for woolworths, I loved it as a kid. I remeber the pick a mix it was great and getting my mum to buy friends videos.
The 99p shop. I know that Poundland took it over, but I liked buying things at only 99p, although I’m sure they’d have to raise their prices
Toys r us and C & A, used to buy my clothes and footwear in C & A the prices were great especially when they had a sale. Toys r us at Christmas great place to buy the kids presents
Woolworths Woolworths Woolworths !!!!!! Pick n Pix !!!!!! If you couldn’t buy it in Woolies you couldn’t buy it anywhere
Debenhams there are no branches left in Northern Ireland all shut down and C&A too Miss them both
like almost everyone else its Woolies - and C&A that I miss. I also miss the big Virgin record shops but as I dont buy physical CDs or anything these days probably not a lot of point bringing them back!
Manchester are opening a new Blockbuster themed bar - shame it's not Woolies! But it's a pretty cool idea confidentials.com/manchester/blockbusters-nq-new-bar-opening?id=627ba025e41c4
I do miss Woolworths for the pick n mix but that was the only thing that I really bought from there. I liked C&A for the clothes when I was younger so would like to browse in there again. We only used blockbusters occasionally so probably wouldn't use it if it opened again.
