What Did You Collect as a Kid?
Ask a Question
Did you collect anythings as a child? I had loads of trolls - you know the original ones with the creepy faces? lol and when I got older I started collecting Pokemon Cards.
I don't remember collecting stuff as a kid cos my dad always have house clearouts! I think I possibly over compensate now though lol.Books and Teddies with me.Quite a lot of pens and cups as well.
MelissaLee1 Do you collect anything now that you loved from your childhood?
SamGoodship I read loads of academic literature but I still buy and read kid's books..love em.I still find it hard to resist teddies lol.
Stamps and coins. Remember sitting around the table carefully soaking stamps off envelopes and laying them out to dry. Then using stamp hinges to stick in my album. Now my albums are more sophisticated but I stopped collecting years ago and gave them to my grandsons.
I collected stamps. I guess they are worthless now. I have thousands of them. I used to also collect recordings of thunderstorms so I could listen to them on my walkman. Friends thought I was crazy. Now people listen to this kind of thing on YouTube etc all the time.
jmsonl Collecting things doesn't always have to mean you will make money from it, as long as you are getting enjoyment from it
SamGoodship I never did it for the money. I have no need for all these stamps now and am aware the market bottomed and just saying they are mostly worthless. I loved the collecting though as a child and spent hours sitting in the local stamp shop learning so much.
As I have said on a similar post, I collected football cards and stickers all through my childhood and never stopped, I still collect them now
I think I just collected dirt and scraped knees as we were always outside playing - all day in the summer holidays, we just went back to the house to be fed but took sandwiches for lunch. You couldn't do that today!!
Loved the star wars tazos and occasionally did the football sticker albums but that was it really.
