How Crafty Are You?
Ask a Question
There must be loads of people here who are into arts and crafts. What type of things do you do? Where do you find the best deals for your materials?
I'm a hoarder so I love anything crafty. Mostly though I can't stop buying pens/pencils and empty pads.

I've badly made out of clay a fairy door and toadstool. One of the kids from my old work has made a fairy world so I'm going to add it to it.
I took up knitting after 35 years and am appalled at how much I've forgotten, I used to knit all sorts of baby things for the local maternity home.
I can't knit to a pattern to save my life. I wish I could. Crochet is no problem. Knitting is impossible
PinkyMerrick I wish I could knit, I have been taught but somehow ended up dropping or adding stitches and got frustrated, now I can't remember a thing. I'd love to be able to crochet, but apparently I was doing it oddly, if it worked I didn't care. I gave up, clearly not for me
My mother-in-law can knit quickly whilst doing other things, super talented.

i’m a bit of a multi crafter but my main ones are watercolour illustrations and rock painting
I used to be very into crafting. I loved drawing as a child, I could copy things perfectly, so much so some people said I just traced it, so I didn't feel it was worth my effort. I'm much more of a copier than drawing from my imagination though.
It helped me through when I was younger, I met lots of people through crafting, such great crafting communities online. I stopped around lockdown and haven't really crafted since. I have a whole craft room with a mix of stuff. My main craft was card making, but diamond art was amazing if I needed to chill out. I had all intentions to make beautiful scrapbooks, but never did much with those, but I do like jewellery making too.
Would be amazing to get my passion back for it.
Maybe go into your craft room and sit for a while? Something might fall into your head as inspiration ️
PinkyMerrick I think I need to dig more kit like items out and make a start, might be easier to start with matching items to use first. Once I'm inspired I may not come back out again
The Range and The Works do really good quality craft products but for such reasonable prices.
I know what you mean about pens. I've got loads but then I find I need different pens depending on what I'm doing. I love buying new pencils too I really love the smell of them when you open a new tin. I do different arts and crafts like painting by numbers, colouring in adult colouring book, making cards, drawing and painting wooden, ceramic or paper mache items. I find The Works, Crafty Arts and Hobbycraft good places to get stuff from.
KAW18 I love my Promarker pens, I had the whole set, so lovely to colour with and the blending. I cringe to know children are made to colour with felt tip pens!
Although I did rehome the metallics, I didn't enjoy using those. Mine are the old Letraset ones though, looks like they are now under Winsor & Newton.
Had a friend who used to forge wristbands to get into festivals and clubs for free as a teenager. Crafty on more levels than one.
I'm so rubbish at drawing, I've seen pictures done by 4 year olds on fridge doors that are better than I can do. I remember at school we had to draw the person next to us and my image of the girl next to me was so awful she hit me. I have seen worse on occasion but overall I'd give myself a 1/10 rating for drawing.
I love being creative. Want to try paint pouring. Looks great. Tried it once but it didn't have the effect I wanted. Need to try again with various colours
tara73ziva that's so lovely! I've tried crocheting but I just haven't got the patience for it.
I love trying out new crafts. I've tried loads of different ideas over the years. I find lots of inspiration online.
I love crafting, I always have since being a kid, last year I decided to turn my hobbie & love of crafting into a business! I make lots of different things, some I sell on my Etsy shop, some I make for friends & family as gifts.
I have just been through all my craft stuff I don't use anymore and I have loads to go! Think I'll have to do an ebay joblot
One thing I'd love to be able to do but I just can't is paint!
PinkyMerrick If you go on Etsy and search ImThursdaysChild (all one word) it should say 'search shops with that name' - click that and it should take you straight to my shop.
I got into quilling a while back not only is it really enjoyable but also a cheap craft. I make cards and pictures.
I used to like paper weaving and making paper flowers but sort of lost touch with it all. I should get back into, thanks for the post
