Yes I have seen the stuhrling watches advertised by Debenhams at ridiculous rrp prices, they don't cost anywhere near that

A lot of retailers have got naughty with doing this sort of thing recently, amazon are pretty bad for it as well.

Sometimes they mark these things up so they can put them on sale at a reduced price. It’s all a con

Tbh I don’t think it’s just debenhams that do this, pretty much every company boosts the price to make it look like a massive bargain

Debenhams has gone the same way as Flannels and Sports Direct since Mike Ashley took over. Ridiculous RRPs, don't take a blind bit of notice

As ever always ignore the discount and look at the final price. Anyone can advertise something at 10x its normal price and then claim a huge reduction even if other stores are still cheaper when they reduce it. It used to be that they only had to put the high price item in one store and didn't even have to have them on the shelf to claim that was their higher price.

Reminds me of years ago when I worked in a AV shop and someone came in and said Comet sell the same TV for only £300 but are out of stock and my manager said cheekily when we are out of stock we do them for £300 too. The customer didn't appreciate the joke.

I placed an order from Studio a week or so back and there was some great offers but there was also a huge amount of fake offers in the mix. Another Mike Ashley company. I was more than pleased with my order but you have to be careful with any retailer. This very site is full of completely fake deals where much better prices for the same goods are easily found.

BonzoBanana I didn't know that Studio had been taken over by Ashley, I thought that it had gone rogue all of a sudden

TheChimp The order I received even had some sport's direct price tags on them so clearly it was coming from a sports direct warehouse rather than a closing Studio warehouse. In fact I don't think anything I bought had any sort of Studio branding on it. I think Studio are just becoming a brand of the Mike Ashley empire and most of the previous Studio employees are probably gone same as Chain Reaction.

This happens on many sites nowadays. Same with Amazon with chinese brand items, that people don't realise are.

Fake RRP with a huge discount that isn't real.

Many people just see a large discount and jump at it without researching.

This usually happens around Black Friday they inflate their prices so it looks like you’re getting a bargain.
