Developer Builds a Balcony at Block of Flats around an existing Street Lampost

In the News

I have seen some ingenious ways to get lighting without paying for the electric , but this beats them all

Never mind solar power, this is completely free power

The developer was fed up of waiting for permission from the council , so they decided to incorporate the street light into the build

The new owners can sit on the balcony at night now smugly with that glass of red and their free lighting

The only problem is when the council finally get their finger out they are planning to remove the lampost

It's a shame really because i think it is quite unique , maybe the owners could cut a deal with the council ?

Maybe they will finally see the light and save the taxpayers some money

I think the most surprising thing here is that the builder didn't have to wait for full permission before going ahead with the build. If that had been a private build they would have been in deep sh*t with the council.

Omg really?! I mean why would you do that. That's crazy and it'll block the light from the street and annoy whoever lives in the flat

I say council should leave it alone and let them benefit for free for a change as it costs them no extra. As long as it isn't blocked from giving light where intended on the street it's a great idea and would like to see it catch on. Would love to see a pic.
