Does Anyone Know Anything about Wild Life Cameras
Ask a Question
We are after a wild life camera . But don’t want to keep on buying batterys. Has any one got one or know anything about them. I’m getting a headache looking at specs and dont know what they mean. Thank you
When you say wild life camera do you mean one of those cameras you leave in the woods and they take video only when a animal comes nearby, i.e. you strap them to a trunk etc or do you just mean a camera for normal use but with a good optical zoom lens?
BonzoBanana sorry if I was not clear. I meant one you leave outside overnight and when a animal arrives it goes off. Not one for normal use.
julie781x I don't really know anything about those to be honest. I assume though that most would have a lithium-ion battery pack so you wouldn't have to keep buying batteries, just recharge them.
BonzoBanana This is the problem some do but then they have other batterys as well . Hard to compare as they don’t seem to have model numbers .
I posted this one recently:

julie781x Also at that price the 48MP is probably fake and just upscaled which is pointless. 48MP is an expensive sensor so most action cameras and other cheaper Chinese electronics just use something like a 8, 12 or 16MP sensor and upscale which wastes battery and storage space. If you buy such a camera try the different megapixel settings as you may find the lower settings are no different in quality. In my opinion its always best to use the native resolution of the sensor and if you want to upscale it do it on a computer where it does a much better job of it.
We use 2 , we use the solar powered ones with rechargeable batteries as a back up feature, so no need to buy batteries
martinlufc5637 Where did you buy them from please? Do you recommend them or wished u had bought different ?
julie781x they were a twin pack from Amazon, had them 18 months and never had any problems, I think they were £64 , I don't think I've ever needed to touch them from set up, it's all done from an app
