Does Anyone Remember the Old Product Dispensers We Used to Have ?

Other

I saw this beech nut chewing gum dispensing machine on social media and it reminded me of all the other machines we used to see on the street at one time

There used to be one dispensing milk

Do you remember any others ?

I remember one for Murray Mints outside the sweet shop and for chocolate at the train station.

We have a vending machine in the area that sells milk and milkshakes. I would have bought a milkshake from there, but the operators couldn't tell me whether it contained dirty sweeteners.

xKJG93 Yes, they were banned in 2011 X , but i believe they still have them in Ireland

And most bars in spain have them

I read that to use one the bartender flicks a switch behind the bar to authorise its use , it is to stop underage people buying them

telmel Old ones used to be outside the newsagents in the 70s, but I'm not sure whether they were still in use

telmel aren’t they a rip off even back then? Didn’t they used to only have 16 in a packet instead of 20.

TheChimp They couldn't put them outside anymore TC, they would be crowbarred off the wall

I only remember the chewing gum machines, there was one at the bottom of our street when we were kids, you couldn't have them today, someone would rip it off the wall within a day, I definitely don't remember the milk ones

LL81 I was always afraid of missing the train using the machines on the train platform L, if you were very hungry you would need to take a chance jumping off the train and back on before the train left

Now some trains have food and coffee onboard to buy , but it depends on the length of the journey and company

I remember the awful hot chocolate machine and the swimming baths in the 70s. Weak and watery and in a tan plastic cup. Yuk!

dawarwick I worked in a bank that had this machine and we aren't talking the 70s but this century. Free for staff so they didn't haven't to buy actual tea or coffee but over time they did because it's a corporate place

Yes used to get bars of dairy milk after swimming from one of my local centres. It sold dairy milk and fruit and nut bars
