Don't feed your dog Pheasant Meat, Deadly Lead Poison in Pet Food

In the News

Dog food that contains pheasant meat can cause deadly lead poisoning to pets

When tested the overall mean average in raw pheasant dog food was found to be 34 times higher than in pheasant sold for human consumption, which is is also too high

The problem is the pheasants are minced to go into the dog food and the lead pellets used to shoot the pheasant are also minced in too , giving the high lead content

Pheasants for human consumption also contain the lead pellets but these can be removed as they are whole and not minced, but still showing higher levels than acceptable

I feed my dog dry food anyway and not game , more so after reading this article
