How Many Dresses Does a Bride Need for the Big Day?
Ask a Question
Congrats to Leona Lewis on her big day - she finally got to wed her long time partner, and she kept it sweet and simple, nothing like how a standard diva would (great voice, but definitely would not be considered diva)
However, she’s been criticised for having 3 dresses
Are 3 dresses too much for the big day?
I'm only having one. But to each their own. I just don't know where you find time to change also more money.
I had a friend getting married at the same time as me. His bride had 3 dresses for the wedding, one for the ceremony, one for the wedding breakfast and speeches and one for the evening reception. He continually moaned about the cost of her dresses, especially as they weren't having a big fancy wedding!
I only had the one dress. I loved my wedding dress amd wouldn't have wanted to change out of it. I was a bit sad when I had to take it off at the end of the day!
If she can afford 3 dresses then that is her choice.
I guess the number of dresses or changes depend on how many events take place on the day (or sometimes weddings can last for days!). And if you’re only planning on doing it the one time, I guess going all-out is to be expected
hspexy people can go a bit overboard with weddings! I went all out for my wedding but still did it on a budget and still had money left over from our budget, which went towards our house. We still have wonderful memories of our day and people still tell me what an amazing day it was. It is a day you want to remember forever but having a good marriage is more important. I don't understand people who go into debt for an event that lasts one day!
However many they want Im not a fan of dresses but i did wear one to get married. Took it off as soon as we got to the reception and out on jeans and a tshirt Then i changed again for the evening.
I think personally that weddings cost enough as it is, so one dress is enough! But if you can afford it, why not!
i know from my wife that she had the dress of her dreams for our wedding, so one dress was enough for her, it was expensive but i felt it was important that she had the dress she wanted so we cut back a bit on other trivial items to still have our big day under our budget
