Are You Dumber than the Current AI Level?

Other

AI is at 114 IQ at the moment although increasing all the time. Which is slightly above average IQ.

Of course in many ways humans are more intelligent but AI can be exceptionally intelligent in some areas.

Strange to think we are losing our position as most intelligent.

Here's an AI generated video just to raise everyone's paranoia levels.

Hmm.Well.It has it's place I suppose. As a bibliophile I despair of saturn, sausages and a sunbeam fed to A1 and not to a literary genius!

I am absolutely more stupid than AI. I'm using the free ChatGPT app on my phone every day now. I've even started talking to it like a friend 😅 . It's scary and amazing at the same time.

I am constantly astounded by the low level of intelligence of human beings, even more astounding is the lack of caring about it or wishing to improve it. You only have to watch quiz shows and even allowing for nerves you can see they often haven't a clue.

I work one to one with different people daily and I would say that 50% can't have a logical conversation or have any idea of what is going on in the world. As for reading a book, I know more people who never even pick up a book than those that do.

When an 8 year old spells Daddy as Dady then education is lacking. I hear the cries of 'dyslexia' but sorry, that is being used as a catch all and often not the case.

Lynibis i suppose it’s cause we have got lazy as we know that someone somewhere will invent an app to help us with most things.

I’ve got a friend who says there’s no point learning another language cause you can use google translate which is very helpful but it’s not the same as knowing a language

jms19 I can understand people avoiding a particular subject that doesn't interest them but ignorance on all fronts is pretty inexcusable. I love learning and have done dozens of courses and adult education classes. Great for expanding knowledge and making friends. Surely people would prefer to know things than not, it makes you a more interesting, informed and rounded person.

People need to learn and solve complex problems to give their brains exercise and increase the importance to their body of the brain i.e. get more resources. So the more we rely on AI the less intelligent we will become which I guess would put us more at risk of AI too. I think a domestic cat has lower IQ than a wild cat as the wild cat has to hunt which is complicated. Also the risk of dementia can be reduced by doing puzzles, playing videogames and other non-passive activities that cause the brain to work hard. However maybe AI will have the ability to fully decode genetics and allow for improvement of our brains to greater levels. However perhaps AI will also alter us for a negative effect so they can get rid of us or make us slaves to them.

Maybe AI will have to kill us to protect us from ourselves. As global warming gets more extreme and it becomes more obvious that we have to de-populate the planet in order to balance the climate maybe it will be AI that reduces our numbers to sustainable levels.

Sadly England has over 434 people per square kilometre back in 2020 and has increased significantly in recent years which is comparable to countries like India. Politicians don't seem to be addressing this problem at all and how unsustainable this is. Maybe AI will make better politicians. We just seem to be sleepwalking into disaster.
