Early Autumn?
Ask a Question
Is it just me or does anyone else think we are practically into autumn. It's not even the end of August yet.
Definite drop in the temperature these past couple of days, and it seems to be dark by 8.30pm.
Mind you, if you go by the 3 month season rule then Autumn is only 10 days away.
I know its absolutely miserable! I think I have accepted that summer for us is over. Every time I check the weather app its always around 20 degrees but its so cloudly and windy its freezing still or just muggy which is worse
In true British fashion, the weather will turn nice again at the beginning of September just in time for the kids to go back to school. Happens every single time.
RegularComper91 I hope so as I tend to book my leave in September! Often turns out a good month weather wise
didbygraham good luck for the September weather, you're right ght usually it is good.
We went to an open air event Monday, its was damp and cold. Definitely felt autumnal rather than summer.
It has definitely taken a turn. It is much colder and very windy here. Lots of rain too. My other in law had her fire on yesterday.
I really don’t like it, never thought it would suddenly turn like this. Nasty wind out there today/ tomorrow AM and typical it’s bin day
I definitely think we’ve had our summer and it hasn’t been a very good one. I’ve had the big pool up for 2 months and it’s spent more time covered over than any thing else. Grandkids have spent about 2 hours maximum in total in it !
reannsgran us too, I'm in that shall I empty it or is it going to get nice again if I do!
I agree totally with you, it's very autumnal at the moment, and the nights are drawing in so quickly.
I remember going to Weymouth in October a few years ago and it was a blistering day, very hot and got a bit of a tan from the day. So we are still well within the period of hot days with often many in September yes its less than July and August but still a good chance of some summery days. Global warming is slowly increasing average temperatures which obviously isn't a good thing for the world but does help in a colder country like the UK.
Not much of a summer last year and virtually non existent this year, winds last night kept me awake and it's raining today, miserable weather
Yup it's autumn it's cold. Had to come home early from camping as it rained and our tents no longer waterproof
Lol I was just thinking about exactly this! It’s gotten really chilly in the early mornings and I’m just wearing a tshirt to sleep I don’t think it’s been like this for a long time! Autumn usually arrives at the start of September
We need to have summer first. It's miserable out there today. Last day of holidays we aren't going anywhere
Yes autumn is coming, really cold on a night now, we had heating on last night, I've already put my shorts away for next year
martinlufc5637 lmao you had the heating on?!! Where do you live that it gets that cold ?!
kitty88uk west Yorkshire, it's cold, rained all weekend, really cold on a night now, not looking forward to autumn then winter
martinlufc5637 oh really?! I live in the same area too! It’s not that bad lol a bit chilly when sun sets, I walked to local M&S cause I have a birthday treat and for a box of for free! Was still warm but might be cause of the walking. I like autumn season winter is okay too but not when it’s freezing
Can’t believe there’s Xmas items already lol
Yes the temperatures in the morning has dropped, Sunday seemed chilly said will rain went to town took a coat and umbrella with me and nothing! so hot and humid
Only just seen this topic but it's definitely seeming colder but I prefer this time of the year personally so win win for me
