I was just watching an old TV comedy and they mentioned corned beef. It brought back lots of memories. When I was a kid corned beef was a staple ingredient in my Mum's kitchen, she used to make corned beef hash, corned beef pastie ....sh, corned beef pastie ....
As an adult I have never bought it, not due to taste reasons, but how difficult it was to open the tin, used to be a butterfly key and also I found the outer layer off putting. So, I wondered if corned beef is still on people's menus
Yes we still like corned beef hash and when we have toasty. I know lots of people I know eat corned beef
I still eat corned beef occasionally. I like a corned beef and pickle sandwich or a corned beef and potato pie. Corned beef hash would be my favourite though. You're right about those tins! Still a bit of a nightmare. You would have thought that we could have come up with something better by now.
seasider71 My Mum was so protective that I was always frightened of slicing off my finger
Leannexxx I didn't know it was that expensive, when I was a kid it was an inexpensive option
Emerge11 yeah we use Asda's own, nothing wrong with it, it tastes just like any other brand
Emerge11 we don't have a Asda near us and last time he looked for it , it was £4.50 I was shocked at the price that was princes too that's what the price is close to us

Yea now and again. I still enjoy it, although I like other food items more. I prefer it to spam, which seems to be popular
I buy tins of corned beef regularly. I dread to think how much fat there is but it is delicious in a sandwich.
I don't buy tinned corned beef, I buy packed sliced beef. I remember when there was a corned beef outbreak when I was a child in the 60's.
I have never eaten corn beef personally but I used to work in a pub kitchen and the lady who ran it used to make corn beef hash and I had to serve it, never liked the look of it.
eyeballkerry It may not be the best looking dish, but when my Mum made it, it was delicious
Ooh a corned beef pastie sounds so delicious to eat yum! Haven’t had breakfast yet and I’m hungry haha
It's ok and have it very rarely, I don't think I've had it in the last 5 years though. I think I did have a corned beef pasty at some point which wasn't that great, actually that might have been something like 3 years ago.
I buy It occasionally as I like Corned Beef Sandwiches with Tomato. I used to like a Corned Beef Breville too but not had that In a long time. Its still good though. If you`re unsure of the tin because you dont want to cut yourself. Dont use the key. Open both sides with a can opener and push the meat out.
Absolutely, we have corned beef ash at least once a week, my wife has corned beef sandwiches I wouldn't go that far lol
Absolutely. One of my favourites to have on a sandwich with brown sauce and a bag of crisps
We sometimes have corned beef pasties and their lovely, corned beef from Aldi just over £2.00 a tin.
I don’t buy it. Mum does occasionally. I don’t dislike it though and quite happy to have it if offered.
I don’t personally. But my husband loves a corned beef sandwich. He doesn’t eat it every day or every week. Probably once a month
I love corned beef. My favourite is panacalty, it's a north east dish with veg, sliced potatoe & gravy. Our mam made it alot when growing up, probably because it was cheap. I don't make it often, perhaps once, twice a year.
Never have eaten that stuff, isn’t that rations back in the day ? I wouldn’t even want to eat it. . Think I remember my mum like corn beef hash?
I always made potatoes, corn beef, and beans for my kids when they were young they still love it ,so do I, I enjoy a sandwich with cornbeef and tomato its the packets I buy
Yes I still eat corned beef I make corned beef pies, corned beef hotpot, and corned beef hash, corned beef and onion toasty corned beef and bean toasty
We make Cornish pasties in the winter, from one tin we get at least 4 large pasties. It's time consuming but tasty and quite economical ......love it with baked beans on a cold evening
